Went live a few hours ago on Steam.  It's pretty good.  I never played the original SS, but there doesn't seem to be quite as much interesting action as Second Encounter had.  The game has the typical SHIT TONS of graphics options for PC gamers, but it runs 60fps most of the time on my PC on all ultra settings.  When I stopped playing I was ranked 26th in the world (and I took a break to answer the door and get some food).

I owned this for the PS2(the non HD version) which I bought for 10$ at a dollar store haha, it was a simple and fun game though, I enjoyed it.

I've only got the original on my PC but I do remember it being both pretty and fun to play. Apart from the graphics overhaul, is there anything new in this version?

A G Bomb quicklook on this would be insane

I'll likely try this out at some point. I've actually only played a demo of SS waaay back when...and never got round to playing the full version...so maybe this will be an excuse to do that.

Yay, got this but haven't installed it.  Loved the Second Encounter, but never played the first.  Looking forward to the craziness over Thanksgiving :D

I really really really really really really really really really really really really really hope this shit is coming to XBL.  I have no access to this stuff on Steam!!!

I must caution against playing this game with any kind of controller. It's meant to be frantic, lots of monsters, like the quicklook. While controllers work fine for Halo 3, I fear the devs have to make the game deliberately easier for XBLA. Anyway, I own the original SSFE and SSSE, and still picked this up, both to support the devs, and for the leaderboards :D
