    Which version should i get? Are they identical?

    It sucks when you find out later that the other version looks better or has better framerate or something. Damn you, Assassin's Creed 2!

    He already mentioned framerate. Sometimes, certain games aren't identical on both platforms. Bayonetta is an obvious recent example, but that was because of port problems. Darksiders featured some pretty glaring screen tearing on the 360 that wasn't present on the PS3.

    If you have both systems, why wouldn't  you want the more technically proficient one?

    @Zippedbinders knows what's up.

    By the way, this game runs on UE3.

    It runs on Unreal Engine 3, so I wouldn't be surprised if it ran better on 360.

    Because of Chiveaux and Xbox Live.

    http://www.giantbomb.com/profile/teflonbilly/my-xbox-360-games/46-9154/ - 116 games

    http://www.giantbomb.com/profile/teflonbilly/my-playstation-3-games/46-10624/ - 9 games

    Completely understandable, but Xbox Live means dick all when it comes to single player games. If the PS3 version is better why wouldn't you get it? Hell, in the case of Dead Space 2 and Portal 2, the PS3 version nets you a free game.

    This, but if you want to be absolutely sure, just wait for the inevitable Digital Foundry or Lens of Truth analysis.

    Fuck it. I'm buying the PS3 version. If it's Bayonetta'd I'm just returning it to Gamestop for the 360 version.

    Wait for the Wii U version. You know there'll be SOMETHING cool on that controller screen.

    I got the PS3 version and I haven't noticed any actual issues yet, none of the weird smudginess present in Rockstar PS3 versions. Heck, not even a mandatory install. Just 15MB for saves. Framerate is pretty rock solid too.

    I went with the 360 version. I played a couple of hours and it seems solid. Only thing I've noticed is the initial load of the game has the unreal texture load in the first couple moments of game play.

    Ordered the PS3 version. Game releases tomorrow in Europe. This better be good.

    Have been reading conflicting information on platform differences in the NeoGAF thread. There's people saying that the 360 version has screen tearing and the PS3 version has UE3 texture load problems. Hard to say for sure. I guess the cries would be louder if this was a Bayonetta situation, so i'll assume the differences are negligible.

    @Bib: Same here, also ordered the PS3 version, let's cross our fingers. What I am most worried about though is the lack of anti-aliasing on PS3. I have some unfound memories of the Darkness on ps3, oh god...

    I went with the 360 version.    The Unreal engine just seems to play nice with the 360 better.

    Console wars aside, can you set the PS3 version to Aim with L1 and shoot with R1? Or are forced to use the backtriggers?

    @Vorbis:  I believe you aim and shoot with L1 and R1 by default on PS3. From what I've heard, I don't own the game so I can't confirm for sure.

    @Vorbis:

    Like Lucifer said, aim/shoot is on L1/R1. Light shot is on R2 though, and you'll need that fairly often.

    So i've been playing the PS3 version for a few hours. It's technically fine, i haven't seen any glaring problems yet. The biggest is probably delayed texture loads, but it's not all that noticeable. Framerate is mostly good too.

    Of course, my PS3 started throwing disc read errors today and will probably need to be replaced, but that's another issue altogether.

    I also went for the PS3 version and apart from the usual UE3 engine woes like texture loading, it's fine. Didn't notice any screen tearing, which is a big plus. The only real issue is that the game sometimes stutters on load screens (2D Garcia stops moving) or seldomly from one spot in the world to the next, which makes you think the game's freezing. It never is though. Load times can be long, wondering if it's the same on an installed 360 version.

    So i've been playing through the 360 version and even being installed on the HD, I get a really jarring freeze at the beginning of each chapter, after Act 2-1. Anyone else have this? More importantly does the PS3 version do this? (It's a friends 360 copy).

    Update apparently the freezing issue is for Act 2. Cause Act 3 was just fine and I also just purchased the 360 version, so whatever...
