" C'mon Brad. You can only think of one developer who'll use the cool stuff in the 3DS? What a douche thing to say; you're the type of gamer that completely ignored Zack & Wiki or Mad World or Silent Hill Shattered Memories or No More Heroes 2 or Epic Mickey on Wii huh? Or the "better than the HD console version" SKUs of Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands and The Force Unleashed II? Jesus Christ. I hate that kinda gamer. It's like they only hear about games that Gamestop puts out ads for. All they play are the big tentpole games from EA and Activision.  Don't be that gamer, Brad. Don't be a loser. Notice it when developers do great things on hardware, shit. "
Brad reviewed silent hill shattered memories. "
And he was the primary cause for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories being selected as Giantbomb's GoY for the Wii in 2009. "

For a second there, I thought they were saying that the NGP would be all-digital like the PSP Go. Let's just say I'm very glad this isn't the case.

Rushed launch, with several key features missing... so its not a fully functioning 3DS.
Pretty crap lineup, except for Ocarina of Time, which will be basically impossible to get for months and months if your not at the front of the line in Japan.
Region Locking.
Early reports are suggesting cases of dizziness and migraines are more severe on NIntendo's 3D technology.
While people were complaining about the price in the states, it will be in excess of $350 here... even though Australian Currency  is almost 1 for 1 with the US.
There will be a 3DS lite not too long after.

From where I'm standing it's looking pretty damned broken, and in more than one way.

@AdMordem: If this is a rushed launch then so was the DS. The "Key" missing features aren't that great anyways. DSiWare was awful, and the E-shop will most likely be also at it's launch. Maybe when it launches later Nintendo will have had time to make sure it isn't filled with terrible games. The other things it can't do are use the web browser, or play 3D movies. I personally don't want to be surfing the web or watching 3D movies on the 3DS. I'd like it to be able to play 3D games, which it will be able to do at launch. While the games may be sub-par, they were with the DS at launch also.  As for the 3D causing dizziness/fatigue that's just speculation. There were no articles or anything saying that at E3, so why are they cropping up randomly now? There's no way for someone to back that up, because the console isn't in consumer hands yet.

I think it sucks that it's region locked as well, but that's even a part of most consoles. That price is also terrible for Australia, I've never understood stuff like that.

My point is, it seems like this is the same way Nintendo has launched their previous handhelds. They've been pretty good, but not up until a certain point after launch. It might not be so much that the 3DS is garbage, but that you have a problem with Nintendo's business model.

Well said.

I can definitely see your perspective on the features thing, but put it this way... no games means relying on other features to make it a solid product, with no shop, surfing and... nah actually the 3d movies seems like a stupid idea... anyway, no killer app makes this thing kinda broken at release.

As an aside there would have been a couple times in Pheonix Wright when a web surfer could have come in handy.

People are getting chances to test the 3DS over greater time than the short E3 demos, which makes sense while they would notice Nausea etc now with extended playtime. I'll try to find the podcast i heard of the group who tested it, as most of them complained about nausua, and claimed that 3d movies and TV in the past hadn't had that effect on them.

Obviously the region control and higher Australian costs are more personal problems for me, but come on... my government already punishes me for being a gamer... does Nintendo rub the acid in after?

I agree it will probably be cool in 18 months or so,.but that is kinda my point really, once its a complete product in my eyes - games, apps, lighter version, cheaper, not racist... it will be 'fixed' and I may buy one :P

EDIT: I was still thinking about the features thing, and I guess the 3D camera is legitimately exciting, but I don't think I could call it a killer app, when just about every appliance 6 months after will have one built in im guessing.

DS2 should've gotten max 4 stars. It's a horror game that is not scary even for a micro second. That's a undeniable fail and not worth 5 stars, regardless of how well designed the combat is.
