Get on my shoelace level! Bro, do you even tie??

Kind of bummed with how short this episode is though. Especially seeing as how we don't get them often.

Skip to 3 minutes for gameplay, there's a real poor intro that's not worth watching.

Thwomps move sideways in Mario 3, the only specific place I can remember off the top of my head is a level 6 fortress.

You need to collect the coins under those pesky Munchers before Bill gets there guys. And Ben is correct, the POW block is just to help you collect the GB coins at the start.

Also, spin jumps. ;D

Loved watching you working it out as you went along.

Thanks for playing my level & thanks for the Premium Jan!

To answer Dan's question: Crazy Horse is still in development and it'll probably never get finished any time soon. They've sculpted the face to near completion, but given it's supposed to be an entire body of the man AND his horse, they've got a LOT of work to do. It started over 60 years ago and we will probably be dead before they finish it.

Source: I live in South Dakota, just east of the Black Hills, where Crazy Horse is.

Tying your shoes is like walking down the stairs: if you actually think about it for more than a second, you will fail in catastrophic ways you never imagined.

@ben Do exactly what you were doing before, but the critical part is that your second knot should be opposite to the first one. So if your first knot goes left over right, your bunny ears go right over left, or vice versa. Doesn't matter, so long as you don't tie the bunnies in the same direction that you tied your cross.

I feel like I probably tie my shoes once a month.

Otherwise I just slide them on or off. Maybe that's bad for the heel but it's not like the heel is ever the first point of failure on my shoes, even with the way I abuse them.

Anyway, if your shoes stay on and someone mocks you for tying them wrong then chances are you just met a bad person.

The Corn Palace is a weird thing. It's effectively a convention center/assembly place for events but in the middle of the state. That's not super effective, given that the two major city centers of the state are on either side of it, hundred of miles away. But! It is! A Palace! Made of CORN!

@threeoct: Please tell Wall I love it and miss it dearly. I love hwo damn weird South Dakota can be.

I have perhaps become very cynical of the place (despite having been a long time since I went there personally), but the coolest thing about Wall are the hundreds of signs advertising it on the way to Wall (specifically Wall Drug, which is pretty much a visitor center on the way to neater things in the state).

this is how I do it, it's fantastic

Edit: Indy throws the sand after the "leap of faith"

I do the same knot just with a less fancy/complicated setup. I used to do the "kids version" until I learned this one from Matt Parker over on Numberphile. It really is easier, quicker AND makes a prettier knot than any of the other versions! =)

It's wierd tying my boots has just become so automatic for me that when I actively tried to think about how I would go about explaining how to do it without actually doing it like Dan did with Ben my brain just started to melt down.

Here's another endorsement for the "Ian Knot" that was linked above. It might take you a week to get used to doing it, but once you know how to do it right it's so quick and easy, and my shoes almost never get untied while I'm walking, even ten hour shifts on my feet.

@benpack:

I recommend following this diagram to easily tie a strong form shoe knot: https://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/standardknot.htm

Interesting that site has Dan’s and Ben’s way of tying laces, https://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/twoloopknot.htm. It also said the end result of both methods is identical.

I think Ben’s issue is that when he pulls on one end of the laces to untie the knot, the other free end of the laces is resting inside a loop and as a result that free end is being dragged by the loop that he is reversing through the knot and ends up blocking the loop from untying. This happens to me in some of my shoes with long laces.
