The parallel docking conversations was a good bit.

Don't get me wrong, the Switch is a great handheld but I much prefer to play it like a regular console, docked and with a pro controller.

The option to bring it with to friend's places, on a commute, or at work has great value, but with the way I usually play I wish it had gotten a power boost to make the console mode a bit more worthwhile.
(That said Dread runs at a solid 60, and Hades / MH:Rise are smooth as well, they do a lot with a little)

Hi just dropping by to say that, with absolutely no disrespect intended towards anybody else, Jan should be the host of the bombcast and this is very important to me, and to all humanity.

Regarding the metroid double jump it's weird in that you both have to be jumping horizontally and also can only activate it AFTER the height of the first jump

BUT, I get the sense it's like that so you cannot just spam it and have to kind of put some thought and timing into the jump. The downside is that it makes it feel weird and you feel like you have slightly less control than you want. When I eventually got used to the timing of it I was able to plan that initial jump better with the double jump in mind etc and the timing became second nature, but there's definitely a certain rhythm that they want you to hit with these jumps.

RE: Jan's story about The Fray playing How to Save a Life 3 times, I saw Third Eye Blind in around 2012 and they kept trying to push new music from a new album to dead silence from a pretty substantial festival crowd. Eventually they got to the point where they had to play Jumper. They played the entire song, transitioning into a drum solo as the rest of the band slowly walked off stage. The drummer solo'd for a couple minutes until the band eventually walked back in, picked up their instruments, and played the entirety of Jumper again. It was something like 10 minutes of continuous Jumper, absolutely bizarre

I hate how "cool" they made Samus. It really feels like they're trying to overcorrect for Other M or something, but whatever the case, the incessant backflips and looking away from explosions and I-dodged-this-by-only-moving-my-shoulder feels like some knockoff Monty Oum shit.

I dock my Switch primarily because the joycons suck for me and legitimately cause me physical pain if I play with them for too long. I dunno if it's because I have large hands but the main sticking point is where the sticks are located causing me thumb and wrist issues. I dunno why they're located as such since it wouldn't make the Switch that much wider if they just put them in a more ergonomic place.

I'm gonna drop some criticism and also a compliment. Danny is so one note. He has to work a socialist/anti capitalist take into every single piece of news. He really has nothing else to add unless its about an obscure studio he visited once. I don't mind his politics but it's just really annoying how much he has to wedge it in or bash on conservatives. Guilty treasures is great!

Really love Ben being back on the show and would love to see more of him.

@dijidiji: I always play docked for the same reason, and I have tiny hands. So maybe it's just...hands! Haha. I feel you, though. I use the Pro Controller and have few problems with that.

@beggary: I feel like the Switch in handheld mode is maybe the worst handheld hardware Nintendo has ever made. It’s for some mythical person with tiny, extremely strong hands.

If you have big hands you enter the Vinny Conundrum, where every button/trigger on the Joycons is microscopic relative to your fingers. But dainty hands are also bad because the Switch is heavy as hell and doesn’t feel particularly ergonomic in how it rests in your hands for hours at a time. At least the Switch Lite is a good fit and weight for child hands, but I don’t think any of the models work well for adult hands.

Thank god the Pro Controller exists, which is across the board solid except for the questionable d-pad.
