Does Emily Panic's presence on Giantbomb, mean at some point we could get Run The Jewels on Giant Bomb. I just want to whisper this out into the universe, just so it might happen. I don't actually think it will. Anyway loving this show.

St. Anger put me off of Metallica for years it was so bad. Watching the documentary along with the album feels mandatory without the context (its on netflix), it all makes sense as to how it happened and why it was so terrible.

I watched the documentary they recommended, it was great.

I maintain that the production on this album is not worse than the production on And Justice For All.

When I first saw this episode, I thought "St. Anger wasn't that bad." Then I realized I was thinking of Death Magnetic. St. Anger was terrible. Carry on.

St. Anger is one of the few albums I cannot get inebriated enough to get through a full listen of. Every - few and far between - attempt just ends up with me skipping to my favorite parts to laugh at.

Also I can't do an album this long of unintentional slam snare so I'm assuming that is part of it.

I do enjoy St. Anger, but this was a great episode. The bits of the doc that are spliced in are a nice bonus.

I didn't know I needed this in my life but I do! This show is great, the album not so much :)

Yeah, people shit on Lulu but i feel like for how bad it is, by how creatively weird it is you can tell everyone was genuinely really into the process. Where as it feels like St Anger was really only something that one person was into making.

I’m not sure if this show is for me. But im certainly glad it exists to upset a few dweebs every episode. Not everything on the site is for everyone.

not sure where the whole "metallica is dave mustaine's brain child" thing came from. the band started with lars and james and then a few other quick lineup changes before cliff and dave were brought on.

Ugh, my god I was so disappointed when St. Anger came out. Similar to Jordan's story my friend and I picked it up and listened to it on my shitty stereo and initially blamed the sound quality on the speakers, but then we listened to it on a better sound system and instantly went "ohhh noooo."

I decided to listen through Metallica's discography and holy shit you weren't exaggerating about Lulu... I only made it through about 3 and a half songs before I tapped out

A fun thing to do if you have access to something that can squirt water (a squirt gun or a spray-bottle of water) and a trash-can lid or something (preferably metal) is to spray the water into the trash can and pretend you're Lars Ulrich doing the drums on this album.
