So, is there a definitive reason why they can't make 5 separate feeds for all the different podcasts? It's kind of annoying to deal with the mess that is the Premium feed.

@drewbert and @dannyodwyer should totally go to Sonoma, they do race NASCAR there every year (late June this year). I bet that would be a weird experience since it's one of only two NASCAR races that aren't on ovals.

The current Mercedes' domination is nowhere near as bad as the Ferrari / Schumacher 2000-2004 era, or some other periods, because at least Mercedes' let their drivers race.

For Red Bull of all teams (and Christian Horner of all people) to demand rule changes to stop another team's dominance is so astoundingly hypocritical that it doesn't even deserve consideration.

I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that Mercedes drivers get Mercedes cars, but Lewis Hamilton apparently doesn't care:

Anyway, I'll be seeing the race this weekend. Would be quite an interesting experience one. Only problem is, that it's been raining a lot for the past few days already, so we might have a wet race this weekend.

I have such a hard time with turn 1 and 2 in the F1 game.

In reference to something Danny brought up...

There are 3 manufacturers in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series: Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota. Dodge still runs in the second-tier Xfinity Series (though only 2 cars), but they withdrew from the top circuit after 2012. The Chevrolet brand is owned by GM and the Dodge brand is owned by Chrysler. Chevrolet is by far the dominant one though, having won the last 12 manufacturer's championships.

Also, here is that 4 car finish in Indy Lights that was brought up. It is as cool as it sounds.

Hey, that pronunciation of "dziękuję" wasn't half bad, especially Danny's. However, the accent in Polish is always on the second to last syllable (in this case "ku") except for words with foreign derivation, where you usually put the accent on the third to last syllable (but this rule seems to be dying a well deserved slow death).

Valentino Rossi, one of the craziest and bravest sportsman ever, said that he is not crazy enough to drive a street legal motorbike in normal commuter traffic. Most of commuter bikers look up to Rossi, that's why I find this amazing.

DTM is the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft. DTM Race Driver was a really fun game by the way.

Also, the MotoGP season starts this week. First race weekend is in Doha, Qatar. This is looking to be an extremely interesting season. Suzuki is returning to the grid, Aprillia is joining (though they did TERRIBLY during the pre-season tests) and there are some interesting new drivers in the grid as well.

I'm from Poland and the only two cities that any one cares about are Warsaw and Krakow. The rest of the place is essentially the sticks. Drew nailed it, Warsaw is the capital where all dabidness happens, and Krakow is the tourist trap. There is a lot of forest in between.

@vday: sorry. I haven't listened to a lot of the podcast. Are they doing Moto Gp or some sort of motorcycle stuff?

@adirtyburger: So you have no frame of reference here, Donny. You're like a child who wanders into the middle of a movie and wants to know whether there was MotoGP or some sort of motorcycle stuff...

If you want to check out IndyCar, the season opener is on network ABC this weekend, and they're also streaming the practices on YouTube on the 'indycar' channel right now...

For short NASCAR tracks, it doesn't really matter where you sit, but the super speedways like Daytona and Talladega are too big for you to see the whole track in person. I've been to two races, one in Richmond and one at Daytona (not the 500), and the short track is a lot more fun to watch... but that goes for on TV, too. Super speedways sound exciting because they go so fast, but actually make for boring races.

Ford doesn't have a team, but they are one of the major manufacturers of the cars in NASCAR. The other two are Chevy, and Toyota. Dodge was a fourth until just a few years ago.

Oh, and I was curious what you thought about Formula E in the sense that electric cars are generally less "green" than internal combustion gas engines. The batteries are made in a process that is highly industrial and more importantly, the energy that is used to charge them comes from the same power plants that burn coal, oil, or whatever the local community is using for the majority of its power. It intrigued me, when I heard you discussing how they use Formula E to promote being "green", since studies have proven electric cars aren't....
