From the start of this series I was hoping you guys would do something like a side stream of the cabaret club. I had tons of fun with it in my game to the point where I basically dropped the main story for hours and just ran the club, I even kept going after finishing the story.

You get a shit ton of money and some other VERY good unlocks from the businesses. The plotline is also interesting. But yeah, it's fairly time consuming. Kiryu's business makes more money but it's basically just a clicker (good time to do sidequests).

My main tips to take away are to make sure you recruit as many hostesses as you can, as your girls get tired and need a break. You can't go in understaffed once your club is popular. Spend a bunch of CP at the shrine and recruit a bunch around town.

You also got the gist of swapping hostesses pretty quick and that becomes useful later on when they start requesting specific girls. Don't be afraid to stall for time with an angry face one - you can also turn angry customers happy with fever time.

Finally, always go for the extension. It fails a lot early on but eventually it's quite reliable.

YES to cabaret club episodes! All of the conversations between Majima and platinum hostesses are priceless. Also funny to see you guys holding back on accessories/clothing when I immediately dumped a bunch of money into making the girls look pretty.

Regarding the potential hostesses that were waiting outside of Sunshine:

Were those people only there because they had completed the side-stories they were involved in?

Yes to more cabaret club! It's my favorite side activity in the game, has some great side story material and the reward for finishing it is amazing. I honestly would be fine with you guys putting the rest of the game on hold till you finished it. However you guys want to do it.

Cabaret Club is so much better than Real Estate and is one of the best parts of the game I think. They should go for it.

Yeah, watching that cutscene for the second time that's what I took away from that scene, especially considering Sagawa did the same thing about Makoto herself in order to make Majima feel okay about killing her. It's the same exact situation again and Majima realizes as much.

This cabaret mini game looks like so much fun, I love how all your girls are shown in the opening cutscene with all the outfits you've chosen, and just how deep it all goes looks like so much fun.

Vinny also got me with the Sizzle Chest.

@pixelsoldier: Yup. If you haven't done the quest yet they aren't there but they will show up later. I hadn't gotten the crazy purple hair lady til later in the game so I didn't have her waiting until I finished her quests.

Oh yeah, Obatarian is an absolute monster when it comes to bilking money out of dudes. She was beating some of my customized, leveled up platinum hostesses in the final areas.

Ai is best girl though.

I am normally not into the whole "hostess club" aspect of the Yakuza games because even though I know it's not, I always end up getting a weirdly... well, pimp-ish vibe off the whole thing.

But I ended up really loving the cabaret business in Yakuza 0 and it is the primary reason I have not finished the game because it's too fucking satisfying.

Every time Majima gives that discreet thumbs up I am like "YEAH GIRL GET IT"

Yes, you guys should do episodes dedicated to the club. You need to see it through. The reward at the end is incredible. You do not want to miss it.

@pixelsoldier: Yes. Since they've been doing a lot of substories they got several good ones already.

There are currently two more hostesses they could get by doing their substories. One comes from a series of substories that start off if they dance 3 times at the disco (might then have to leave and reenter it). The other should activate if they go to the rightmost savepoint on the street at the bottom part of the map and answer the phone there. That one is fairly involved though, it requires them getting a bunch of weapons from the equipment search at the Dragon & Tiger and might be best done using a guide.

I've beaten the story about a week ago and I'm still playing the Hostess club almost every night because its awesome.

Really enjoyed the Cabaret section! Funny and really makes me want to play the game myself. Would totally be okay with episodes of mostly Cabaret.

Since opinions were solicited, I'm against cabaret club episodes.

I wholeheartedly support Club Sunshine only side-episodes.

I'm for some club stuff. But not as if the sun revolved around it.

Here's my big suggestion on the side businesses for Majima and Kiryu: do as much as you feel like doing. You can sink a decent amount of time in both and in the end, you get some nice little story bits and an absurd way to generate cash to buy skills; however, you can probably beat the mainline game just fine without completing them. Just wanting to see y'all have fun rather than get frustrated!

i kind of disagree with the suggestions to use cp at shrine on extra hostesses... cp are not unlimited and i was able to recruit enough girls from sidequests, roaming around (check in with mr. libido occasionally for scouting report) as well as continuing the cabaret storyline that to me it seems shortsighted going for advantages that are only useful early on. to each of his own though, some might argue that unlimited running stamina is an even more non-essential reward.

I'm going to repeat the vote for a "business episode".

You get a lot of money from them, particularly Kiryu's once you get it going. It also unlocks the blocked off parts of the fight style upgrades. There's also a really cool thing you get if you fully complete them, but I'm going to keep what it is a secret!

I think the caberet club is the more enjoyable minigame, as it's more active and you aren't limited by a timer, which is why I think some episodes purely for Kiryu's business would be a good idea. It took me QUITE a while to finish.

I keep refreshing the main page but i still don't see episode 12b! we're waiting guys :)

Seriously though would love to see more yakuza and doing some minigame focused episodes without replacing the progress is probably a good idea.

Would be way into cabaret club episodes. Tip: write down the tips people are saying so you can reference that stuff next time. Stuff like the symbols, stamina, hand signals, faces, etc.

if mini-game focused episodes are a go, i'd like to also recommend spending some time doing slot car racing with kiryu.

I'm sure someone has already mentioned this in the comments but someone should tell Dan that if he presses Triangle in the menu it shows a list of all the businesses in the city. The list can also be sorted buy Stores(Don Quijote, ete.), Resturaaunts/Bars, and Entertainment businesses.

I am for some extra Cabaret Club episodes, but I don`t think the guys should force themselves to finish that story line. It`s really time consuming and it does not change that much, so for me at least by the time I was doing the fifth club it had turned into a bit of a slog. I would suggest doing a bit here and there so you don`t get burned out.

Beastcrew. You can gain additional fans by partnering with business's around the area. It will cost additional money but there is a fair few in each area. Most of them are places you can not go into except one for each club district which is normally locked by friendship/side related quest.

There are also additional hostesses around the city that require gifts normally purchased from the swanky designer store that convince them to join.

Have a good group, always rotate, save and level up. Club Battles can be harder and you really don't want to lose.

Oh yeah the two bars in the bottom right. Top is club profit the other below in pink is Fever which can build to lvl 1-3. I normally just hit lvl 1 all the time as it keeps Fever constantly running.

Honestly, I'd be down for a couple supplemental cabaret episodes.

This is like when I learned that the line and circle on power switches (or the combined line/circle symbol on power buttons) stand for one and zero, or on and off.

I completed the hostess minigame without paying for fans once, and I never got why you'd want to. Won't it just make you able to fight the competition clubs before your girls have levelled up enough to win the club battle?

@liameyers: Yeah it wasn't really needed but it may be handy if the guys only have limited time to devote to the cabaret.

Get CP points if I remember right for completing the districts as well.

Beast in the East is the new Metal Gear Scanlon, you guys are doing great. When you get to Yakuza 1, are you going to wait for the "Yakuza: Kiwami" remaster of that game or are you just going to start playing the OG Yakuza for the PS2?

They are planning on playing Kiwami (they probably won`t be finished with Yakuza 0 before it is released anyway). Alex mentioned in a forum thread that they will definitely take a break between 0 and Kiwami anyway.

I really love Alex's growing fondness and enthusiasm for this game. It gets me excited to watch more of this series. Thanks again guys for the doing the series!

Alex saying "I'm going to put this man in the bin" is an all-timer for me. Holy shit.

Even though it seems like there are some questionable things with it (they mention dates with clients) I think it's all handled pretty well. I like the conversations with the girls some are very entertaining and some of them just make fun of Majima and stuff. I enjoyed the whole thing.

How else are you going to wind up someone if not with a crank?

I probably spent a good 10-15 hours of my 60 hour playthrough of Yakuza 0 just doing cabaret club stuff and I didn't finish the cabaret club storyline as of yet. It's really fun.

Man, Dan's dad was right. Dan really will go for anything with a pair of glasses.
