" The whole advertisement issue is weird to me. I don't see how anyone could so blindly correlate the fact that just because you have an ad deal it means you can't be impartial. Yes, I realize it does happen, but by no means is that the truth. Advertisements keep these things afloat, more specifically, money does, and I'm willing to bet it cost 2k a decent amount of money (relatively) for all of these advertisements, and I don't blame them (GB) one bit for accepting it.   I trust GiantBomb, of all people, to make the best decisions with their advertisements, and so far all of their decisions concerning ads have been within reason. Ads don't bother me, we need them. I fear what would happen to tv without commercials actually, better they stay a separate entity than find their way into the actual show. "
Agreed. I'm not sure why people assume that you can't run an ad and write an honest review at the same time.

The sad thing is, I was like a minute into the video before it hit me that I didn't intend to watch the Bioshock 2 review (again). v.v

Why has the Heavy Rain quick look been pulled? Don't really care about coverage of a dated, mediocre, 10 year old game being re-released on XBL or a review of a sequel that nobody actually wanted made.
Cheers all the same! Get to work Drew.

"bioshock 2 is not biosock 1"
that reminds me of a famous quote  by the president of romania
"winter is not like summer"
he won a second mandate...

" @Scambug told:
a long story about his acquisition and impressions of the game.
Good post.  What about if I didn't enjoy Bioshock tooo much? I liked the setting, story etc but the gameplay felt really clunky. Does the shooting still feel kind of... last-gen? And is it much better with duel plasmids and weapons? "
Thanks.
I'm not a connoisseur when it comes to FPS games on consoles. All games feel clunky to me without a mouse, but at least Bioshock 1 and 2 didn't force me to put the game down in frustration.
The dual wielding makes the sequel for me. It's that little improvement you didn't know you missed until it's there and now I couldn't imagine playing without it.
The hacking minigames have also improved, and although I enjoyed the puzzles from the original, they did get a bit old towards the end of the game.
All in all I feel that the gameplay have improved, and the story is still enough to keep me around 'til the end of the game. And with the amount of games on my shelf waiting to be finished, that's probably one of the best endorsements I can give to any game today.

Someone in this thread said that this sequel feels more like an expansion than a sequel, and while I totally understand the sentiment, I must respectfully disagree. A lot of bits and pieces have been modified and (for the most part) improved, the mythology have been expanded and you're playing as an effen Big Daddy, ferchrissakes.

The Big Daddy felt a little bit weak at the start of the game, but as soon as you get familiar with him, and are able to charge, Subject Delta satisfies and delivers on a grand scale. I still jump in my chair when I see my own shadow :-)

@Scambug:
Sounds promising. You've tipped me in favour of renting it first then buying it if I like it, since it sounds like it's changed significantly with the introduction of the plasmid/weapon wielding.

Thanks :]

@RocketCoinT: the game is just like part one pretty much.....its cool how they set up the story but the game has the lamest weapon set  and the damage they do dont make sense....sure i can shoot you with a rivet yet it only takes of a certain % of damage...yet some of the other weapons and ability are super overpowered....u really ony need 3 skills in this game to run through a game that has already been played before a few years before now....i liked part one for a what it was and the first time experiance....this game just is mediocre at best.

So it's more like an expansion pack or Bioshock 1.5, than a 2.

This is a much better review than the majority out there.  But then it's Jeff, so it goes without saying.  Before Blue Screens Of Death rendered my PC version unplayable, I too got the impression of an expansion pack, and and all-round inferior game, at that.  I'll wait till B2 for Xbox 360 is down to about a tenner, then maybe get it.

I would've liked to play the first game with these enhancements...but I can't imagine I'd like to play the sequel at all.
