Oh my god, I thought these comments were just giving Brad a hard time like usual, but Jesus, that was like a Bipolar episode with those damn lizards. Christ Brad, it's virtual goods!

There's a new high on the streets of Boletaria. Crystal Lizards. Its popularity is exploding throughout the Nexus, quickly outpacing "grass" as the drug of choice. Men and women who are already hooked on the substance will say or do anything to get their next fix. Not even Black Phantoms will stop them as they rampage through anyone and anything in their path. The screaming and howling can be heard for miles. The effects could be irreversible.

Boletaria officials are at a loss how to stop the deadly trend. Not even the king was available for comment. The only question is just how much damage the Crystal Lizard craze will cause before a solution can be found- if a solution can be found.

He wont take a 5 min detour to upgrade his weapon that will help him but gets all the way to the boss door of a level then runs all the way back just to get some mats from a lizard that he will never use.

He wanted to finish this in time for Dark Souls 2, he's never going to finish at this rate

@mormonwarrior: Couldn't agree more. Those are some of the many differences that make Dark Souls pretty much my favourite game ever, and Demons' Souls....not. Like, at all.

The differences are subtle, but huge in their overall impact.

BRAD: That's just a normal curved sword that's been started along one upgrade path (magic scaling with mp regen). You can take any of those weapons you've found and make a Crescent axe/spear/whatever +5.

The sounds that Brad makes when he first runs into the gaggle of crystal geckos is one of the best things I've ever seen on this site.

To be fair he probably won't pickup enough materials to upgrade anything other than the curved sword on the magic upgrade path without grinding a bunch so stinking with that sword is a good idea.

Brad obsesses over crafting items.....never crafts anything and cant be bothered to travel to a blacksmith twice to upgrade his weapon and he also blatantly disregards one of the best rings in the game >.<

Speaking of deer heads: someone across the street from me tried to dispose of one at their curb during monthly garbage pick-up some months ago and the garbage guys wanted none of it. They threw it back into their front yard, and for days there was a gory deer head just sitting in a front lawn in the suburbs.

Seriously, I had to stop watching at some point (and then tuned back in later on because I was bored). Too much screaming over nothing. He's not going to use any of this shit anyway and even if he did, listening to constant screaming is not fun. Well, that just me of course.

Okay, after watching all of these Demon's Souls videos so far, as well as having watched a lot of videos on the site over the years, here are my observations about Brad.

1) He has a tendency to get fixated on a certain method of doing things. Once he's learned something by somebody telling him, or he's figured something out on his own (or, to be more specific, once he thinks he's learned something), he will make that all he tries to do, no matter what. It happened in the Lantern Run videos the guys did; he was adamant that the buzzsaw and shield are the best weapons and that lightning is utterly useless, he convinced everybody else of this, and so they had a significantly harder time of things because they were trying a strategy that was doomed to fail. When he originally attempted the Mile High Club, he had a set path that he would try that wasted almost all of his time moving through the bottom floor slowly, but it was what he had deemed the right thing to do in his head, so he simply tried to do exactly the same thing, only faster. In Demon's Souls, when he first(?) became human, he was insistent about keeping the ring on that would reduce the rate of invasions, yet also insisted that he couldn't just kill himself, because being human meant that he wouldn't have to waste a ring slot on the Cling Ring, and never addressed the obvious flaw in logic (thankfully he seems to have just gotten over being invaded and actually makes use of the second ring slot now). In the previous video, in 5-1, he would always switch to the Soul Ray to try and pull the troll from across that one bridge. He'd have to manually aim it, lose most of his MP doing so, have not enough to kill it, then nearly (or completely) die to it, rather than try anything else that would have been safer and more effective. In this video, you can now see the full extent of this, where the idea has been seeded in his mind that it's an immutable fact that crystal lizards are always the most important thing, that if you see one, you need to drop everything and go for it, that if you kill one and get its stuff, it's the greatest thing ever, and that if it gets away it's worth rage-quitting over.

2) Despite the first observation, Brad is also unsure of himself. At all times. He forgets things constantly, he's never ready to commit to anything, he always needs to ask for confirmation from other people on everything, even when he's supposedly the person with the most knowledge about the game. He will almost always immediately defer to somebody else's suggestions and go back on things, even when he's gotten fixated on something. You can see this in every Demon's Souls video so far, where he is constantly fighting with himself to either use magic or hack and slash his foes. I was genuinely surprised that he killed the Patches guy in 4-2 without any prompting from anybody else; it's the most autonomy he has shown, and probably ever will show, in this whole series. Other examples of these two conflicting attitudes of his are when he got very intently focused on acquiring the Adjudicator's shield, then ignored it because it didn't have 100% damage reduction (to be fair, though, I'd have rejected it as my main shield for the same reason), immediately buying the Warding spell and then focusing on upgrading INT so he could equip it and Soul Ray, then almost never using it and actually getting screwed over by it almost every time he'd use it, having to be reminded that the Soul Ray pierces foes, or that the fireball spell could be used continuously, and, one of the biggest ones, constantly going back and forth between fretting that what he's doing in the game is wasting time and not very entertaining to watch, then saying "fuck it, everyone should have been expecting this".

These two facts about Brad's play style in just about any game are, I think, why he is one of, if not the most frustrating person on the site to watch play games. Not because he's necessarily bad at them, but because he is bafflingly inconsistent.

I can't stand brad's craziness for the lizards. He doesn't even know why, he's doing it.

1) Brad is doing fine without ''helpful advice'' such as use the thief (cheese) ring or upgrade another weapon or use more skillz.

2)Brad's crippling sparkly lizard addiction is hilarious

I'm so surprised at all the people raging about Brad being obsessed with the lizards. I think it's super funny. He knows he's not gonna use them for anything. He literally says it. He needs them because he needs them, man. And it's amazing.

I'll admit, Brad can sometimes be frustrating to watch, but this was one of the best videos of him I've ever seen. All of Brad's quirks but in such amusing ways.

I think @brad actually did really well with that Flamelurker fight. My first time through the game, I just cheesed my way through it by dodging until I could get him on one side of that big log thing close to the door and me on the other side. He just kept trying to charge at me but couldn't get over the log thing so I'd just keep taking potshots with my sword. So Brad did a pretty awesome job, sticking and moving, in my opinion.

Well, with the exception of, you know, getting super fucking cocky at the end of his first attempt, haha.

@customotto: Yeah it would. It makes it much harder for enemies to detect you when you're sneaking up on them.

God job icing Patches. I just hope he doesn't complain about there not being a vendor in the Nexus who sell healing items or a ring that nullifies fall damage in the future.

@turboman The whole first Flamelurker fight is super funny. Something like 2:05:00-2:06:45. Kind of long if you're just looking for quick clips, but I think you could probably break it up into two pieces, like the bit with Vinny's "no no no no no! Yes! No!" then other game clips, then come back to it with his "What are you doing? WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

Also, a lot of the lizard stuff is happening around the 1:06:00 timestamp, if that helps.

And Vinny gets a good troll in at 42:00.
