Oh wow, I hope they return to beat this. I want to see them go for the "good ending" by triggering the warp in level 99. I always liked how it is a team effort for player 2 to get the crystal ball while player 1 goes for the gate. And the passcode for level 99 is the one passcode in all of videogames that I will never forget because my brother and I attempted this so many times: GEJJJ. Good show and best of luck next time!

Stage 57. The real Bubble Bobble starts there. Not to be confused with Stage 90.

Like many other duders have already commented, Bubble Bobble for the NES has a special place in my nostalgia. The music, the controls, the physics, the stages and the 100% satisfaction of achieving the True Ending with my sibling. Would co-op to the Ending right now, so much love for Bubble Bobble.

@s5n8k3: I'd be willing to bet with some different context she would probably realize who he is but even still...these reactions are never as cool or slick or whatever as people think that they are.

This was a neat idea (we know Bubble Bobble has 99 levels, but how often do you see someone go through 'em all?) and a fun, lighthearted stream. I enjoyed watching it.

Of all the things to pick for taking shots, it had to be bourbon. People can drink however they please, but as someone who lives off of the Bourbon Trail, I have to say that that is an awful drink for taking shots.

I guess Vinny never did notice that there's no X in NINTENDO.

@vinny you may want to check out a faq for this game; there's a bunch of item effects that it seems you didn't know about. Also about the "true" ending (not just the "good" ending) which will require playing a lot more than 99 levels.

I love Bubble Bobble so much. This is content I can get behind.

If I could meet and shoot the shit with anyone living it’d probably be someone like John Cameron Mitchell. I bet he’d have a ton of great stories about his experiences in stage and screen over the years.

By the way, Bubble Bobble has a secret ending that you discover by reaching level 10, 20, etc without dying. Then you get a bonus screen that introduces you to an alternate alphabet, Fez style and further screens that tell you how to get the good ending.

Bubble Bobble is probably the best "bad" game ever. Love it so much.

I'm with Abby. Knives Out was predictable and kind of blew. I kept expecting my expectation to be subverted because it seemed so obvious, and then it didn't happen.

Level 99 you need to get the small broom and get in the door to get the extra levels at the end and the true ending FYI ( need another stream with the real ending)

I mean, it's a port of an old arcade game, right? I wouldn't expect a lot of variety or evolving mechanics.

I went through a few decades of my life without realizing that 1) you only had to hold jump to bounce on bubbles and 2) the spikes on Bub and Bob can pop them.

A boss battle in a game where you die in one shot, this was a well thought out game.

It feels weirdly fitting that one of GBeast's last in-studio streams/videos consisted of somehow making 2+ hours of Bubble Bobble extremely entertaining to watch.
