I feel like the break between campaigns was a great choice. Let's us appreciate this game from scratch all over again.

Sonic 06 isn't as bad as Bubsy 3D, it's just bad in more unexpected ways.

Sorry Grubb, but I think the atom shooting would have helped in Bubsy 3d, at least a little bit. It almost feels like a crutch put in because jumping on an enemy's head is so maddeningly imprecise. Don't get me wrong, the shooting is also awful: because there's such a short window to shoot before the atom explodes, you basically have to line up a shot beforehand by standing behind the atom and hopping side to side. But, because a lot of enemies have relatively short aggro ranges, you can be out of range and take your time. At least for the first part of the game; those later levels are cramped thanks to all the instant death pits and more enemies are off the plane where the atoms are so shooting isn't even an option.

That ending sequence was both amazing and hilariously awful for Dan.

i hear there's bad news for Dan. which given what he put Grubb through with Bubsy 3D, he probably deserves.

Grubb is so right that there are very few games quite as horrid as Bubsy 3D. Sure, Sonic 2K6 is irredeemably bad and anyone who tries to seriously defend it as a remotely good game should not be taken seriously – but in comparison to Bubsy 3D it's not so bad.

also damn I loved this video's ending.
