@drzing: Yeah, that was super distasteful. That's pretty much the most selfish way someone could resolve that sort of situation. Really disappointing to hear that sort of thing coming out of this podcast.

Cheating is such a fucking horrible thing to do. If you're really unhappy in that relationship, be a decent fucking human being and break up with the other person before you get into it with someone else.

@nophilip: I didn't get the impression that she was advocating it at all, it seemed obvious that she meant it as a joke. She even ended it with him having to tell her ASAP if I remember correctly. You have to be able to joke about something like that as long as you make clear that you're obviously not advocating it.

I liked her as a guest; the first episodes felt like a lot of answers were on the "safe" side, and she brought a bit of darker topics and jokes (on the rape joke i might have heard Danny fainting :D) which was great. Suicide, open relationships, fetishes were all interesting topics

Ps: I can confirm that SSRI and similar drugs can have a side effect of sexual dysfunctions on different people: I started on Paroxetine (Sereupin) and I became almost anorgasmic (and that was very frustrating), when my psychiatrist switched me to Duloxetine (Xeristar) all went back to normal. So if you suffer from the same or similar side effects pressure your doctor to try different molecules.

Best content on the site - I don't think Nikki was actually advocating the cheating, just seemed like a darker joke playing to the context.

To anyone on anti-depressants and especially Xanax, PLEASE be super careful with alcohol. I cringe when I hear Dan might pop a Xanax after a night of heavy drinking. That combo can seriously fuck you up. Better yet, maybe don't pound 8 beers before going on a date (this has to be bullshit).

Saw "Nikki Glaser" and freaked out because she's one of my favorite comics. Came away utterly depressed. That is some of the absolute worst relationship advice I have ever heard. She's still a great comic, but MAN this podcast made me lose a lot of respect for her.

Edit: I guess it got considerably better as it went on, but MAN, her early suggestions were so cringey.

Wait, what? When did I say anything about taking Xanax anywhere near drinking? I've taken half a pill of Xanax maybe ten times in my entire life, and I've always made sure there's at least a 24-hour window on either side of that to be safe. Hell, that's overkill since I think it's technically safe four hours after taking one. I don't fuck around with that at all, and never have.

Every time I've seen or listened to Nikki Glaser on something she's always been super funny and this podcast continued that trend. It was highly enjoyable having someone completely unrelated to the video game industry come on and interact with these 2 charming video game industry doofuses. I'm very much hoping we get a lot more of that with this feature in the future!

@xeirus: I didn't say what I said out of a sense of moral superiority or anything. I've been in a similar situation to what was described in the podcast, and experienced being cheated on. It's pretty much the worst I've ever felt. Maybe it was meant as a joke, but she did say "I'm kind of serious", so I'm inclined to take her at her word.

I don't give a shit about the sex lives of others, but I do have a problem with people suggesting that betraying someone's trust on that level is ever OK.

@danryckert: Sorry, I know you have it only for emergencies, so by that definition how do you know you are ok to take one? I will give you that drinking greatly reduces anxiety, that's kind of the whole point after all, so maybe it's moot. I'm glad you have the right level of respect for that stuff. :) I have known folks who are scarily over-prescribed like a total of 2-3mg every day and then it becomes something you forget about, those are the people I was mostly addressing there.

@nophilip: The tone of "I'm kind of serious" was obviously part of the joke. The "I'm totally serious about something outrageous, nah I'm kidding, to I'm kinda serious" is an often used joke structure. Of course she didn't mean it literally, she even ended it saying he should go to her and tell her how he feels (at least I think that's I remember it ending with). Obviously she wasn't advocating cheating.

About 5 seconds later she literally said "I'm not saying cheat, but it's time to have a talk", guess you decided to ignore that part.

I've been cheated on too, I just feel like you're taking it a little too serious.

Coincidences are strange. Listen to this podcast only to then turn on my TV and find myself staring at Nikki Glaser as the guest host of some countdown on VH1.

GiantBomb Unrated: late night Danswers

I was prescribed it, that's how I know I'm ok to take one every two or three years if I'm having a catastrophic panic attack. In fact, I've had several doctors tell me that I should take them more (I'm technically prescribed 0.5mg a day). I take it super rarely because I know that it can be highly addictive and I don't want to become dependent on anything. At no point have I ever taken any Xanax in conjunction with any alcohol, and I can't stress enough that no one should ever do that.
