Danswers 04: Nikki Glaser

I'm torn. These podcasts are entertaining, but the more I learn about Dan Ryckert, the more I wish I didn't know about Dan Ryckert.

Does anybody have a link to the article Danny was talking about near the end? The one about a book detailing numerous deaths in a mining town?

Another great show, but I think this podcast is going to live and die by guests instead of just Dan and Danny. They each have a fairly singular point of view on relationships, friends, and careers defined by their own experiences and answer every question through that lens - which is normal and perfectly fine, but also severely limiting in terms of answering questions and already starting to get repetitive. And I often find their perspective unhelpful or unrealistic given their relative youth and fairly unique circumstances (i.e., no kids, living in a city, never married, little financial commitments, one of the few paying jobs in sought after creative industry).

I mean, you can only hear so many times about their concern for settling in relationships, how drive in pursuing your career is everything and you shouldn't settle for an office job, how you should use eHarmony, or how Dan doesn't understand things like a mortgage or joint bank accounts. All useful advice at times, except for Dan's lack of adult knowledge, but at other times misplaced or unrealistic. The career perspective in particular because 95%+ of people aren't going to end up working in a career or field that matches their exact hobby or interest.

The only thing that has kept these last few shows chugging is the guests injecting some fresh perspective.

The way they were talking about her before, I thought Nikki was the one Dan lost his virginity to. Oh, well.

"Don't have a kid unless you have $100,000 spare" was a weird one.

Am I the only one who though that Tom sitting in the corner was just a running joke the whole time?

If you're getting "triggered" by a tongue in cheek podcast then you're misusing that word and need to get off te computer for a bit.

Great guest, great show. Let's see more non gaming industry people on here.

My comment is: moar guests. Dan & Danny are practically tapped out after two episodes so I'd really like to see new guests at all times going forward, whether that's Giant Bomb staff (it goes a long way in humanizing them) or others like Nikki.

So I'm like 30 minutes in but am I correct in thinking she said don't have a kid unless you got $100,000?

The $100,000 2nd child thing was ridiculous.

Finally found the time to listen to this one and can only say: Nikki is absolutely awesome. If you guys ever get the change to get her on again, don't hesitate for a second.

Also guys in the comments sections: loosen up a "bit".
