@johnymyko: i've been trying to lose weight and get more active but not in the best of shape and having knee issues so i've mostly been walking. Would you think this is too strenuous on a not so fit guy and would it have the same effect as like an hour's worth of walking? I'll probably try it out myself anyway, thanks!

I can't remember what I did while dating, but now that I'm married I don't really hold back on the gas anymore. It'll get you a look sometimes but man is it freeing. Also you never know what you do in your sleep so may as well do it when you can acknowledge it.

This is my new favorite thing.

@ripelivejam: Is there any chance for you to try swimming? Swimming can become hard on your shoulders (no exercise is without trade-offs) but it's fantastic and obviously puts little strain on your knees. I vary up my exercise a lot because my joints seem to be a little weaker than the uber-university athletes I know (my shoulders are often tight and I've had one ACL surgery) so I swim once a week, run once a week, etc. to minimize chronic damage from overdoing any one thing.

If you want to lose weight, get in better cardiovascular shape, and "tone" (this word sucks) your body, buy a Concept 2 rowing machine. There is nothing on earth that takes up less space, takes less time, provides virtually no impact on your joints, and can be done from your apartment like a rowing machine.

It begins and ends with your diet though. Calculate your TDEE, take in less calories than you burn and you will lose weight. It's purely about the numbers.

Wait a minute, Vinny who is so against bringing food to the bedroom suggests peeing in the sink? I think one is much worse than the other.

As Dan said, working out usually gives you extra energy, I've read some research a while ago that said working out heavily will give you more energy for the next 24-48 hours.

Might not be the case for everyone, for me it works very well!

@ripelivejam: The best suggestion I can give you is to try the app by yourself or search about it because I don't really know much about this kind of stuff. Since I'm skinny by nature, I'm probably not the most expert guy to talk about losing weight. I've been trying it for two weeks mostly because I noticed I was getting tired quickly and gaining a bit of a gut that was annoying me. The app makes you do an intense workout in 7 minutes, with various exercises, but some of them involve running in place or do squats, so it might not be the best thing if you have knee issues. But take a look at it or maybe check Vimo Fitness as well, I haven't tried it, but lets you customize your workout so it might be better.

I'm personally waiting for the Bradvice episode.

Oh yay thanks @vinny! This is the best ep with vinny on. Also thanks for answering my watch question, I also like mechanical watches, I have several, but not any swatches and I really like the look of that one. I think the mesh bracelet is what caught my eye on the stream, too.

Drew has always struck me as an incredibly private dude. I would actually be super surprised if he ever showed up on this show...as he is like the only member of the crew I know the LEAST about. Other than he likes to do crazy shit like go to North Korea and fly planes.
