I like Dan and all, but man...him being so cold to Skies of Arcadia was kinda irritating. Oh well, opinions and all that.

But yeah bums me out too, Skies of Arcadia was a great game shame Sega never did anything with it.

Flying around and drowning in random encounters though..

Watching certain moments in this and also the Final Fantasy XV Quick look is cringeworthy just makes me think more and more that Giantbomb really needs a JRPG-centric guy hired. You can argue that it's Brad but he barely plays anything past well known titles(They don't even do 'Tales of' game quick looks anymore) and Jason mainly likes only very specific japanese titles like Monster Hunter.

For the Dan fans and wrestling fans out there, what Dan did playing and quitting Skies of Arcadia immediately is equivalent to bringing out a potentially good wrestler to have some big name guy immediately bury him.

I was just thinking to myself a few hours ago that there hasn't been a new Demo Derby in a while. I think I willed this into existence. Just saying.

Boy, that was a lot of shitty games. Skies of Arcadia is awesome but that demo seemed kind of bad. Waiting that long before actually having any of the gameplay sucks.

The other options on the menu would have thrown them right into battles, can't blame the demo for them picking the story option and not trying anything else.

Yeah, it would be really nice to have more JRPG Quick Looks and content. I feel like there's an audience for them here, but the Duders covering any in the future seems dismal, disregarding Persona.

Upon the splitted screen I sit.

That Tony Hawk level is Skate Street. It was a real skatepark in my hometown, and was the freakin' coolest thing ever when this game originally came out. My youth group met at Skate Street for a while, and I have played guitar on top some of those half pipes.

Sadly, it's not there anymore. :(

I want more of @drewbert talking about the staff's various quirks.

FINALLY - Brad's anti-phonetics have been exposed! This has been a pet peev of mine for a long time. In addition to the WaLLk and HHwhile, he also has been known to pronounce the word compass in a weird way. I think it was during a Spelunky stream some time ago but also on several podcasts he pronounces it COMpass instead of the correct COMEpass.

Also, Die Hard Arcade was fucking EXCELLENT! One of the few arcade machines I beat multiple times and would totally buy for my house.

Go treat yourself and watch Game Informer's Super Replay of Dynamite Cop, it is so damn hilarious mainly because of Dan.

I wonder what the DHS would say about a flying craft called Giant Bomb.

I played the N64 version of THPS2, because I never had a PS1. It looked grimy as hell and the music was chopped into weird one minute long cuts of like 6 or 8 of the songs on the soundtrack, but it was enough to completely hook me for HUNDREDS of hours. I 100%ed every single thing on the cart.

Eventually I got the PC version, and experienced it the way it was meant to be (kind of...). I still miss the iOS port, which was surprisingly playable, but stopped working after iOS 7 came out. and Activision refuses to acknowledge its existence.

I don't know if anti-phonetics was the right term or not, but you shouldn't talk like an asshole. Not to say one speaking that way is a super mean jerk or whatever, but the way the term is tossed around about people who wear socks with sandles (or someone who plays Tony Hawk games on N64). Nothing wrong with it, in a "no that person doesn't deserve to go to jail or be harmed" kind of way, but it is pretty dumb.

Dan needs to shut up when it comes to RPGs. Please go back to Mario Party and shush. SOA is one of the best games ever made.

Jeff's presence in these makes a huge difference. I'm glad he's in this one too. I wish there was a series with just Jeff and Drew, there is an unexplored dynamic there.

He was the one who made me notice how often Brad rubs the back of his head with his hand.

I had THPS 1 & 2 for 64 and didn't know about this, mind blown. Good thing I recently got the PS2 version of THPS3 because of Jeff always saying that it's the best Tony Hawk game.
