Am I a monster for thinking SC4 is still the best of the series? I never had as much fun with any of the others as I did that one and I've played 100s of hours of all of them.

I've never played this one, but I LOVED Soul Calibur II back in the day.

@kapelan: Honestly, I felt that way up until Dan got out of his "competitive asshole" mode around the halfway point. It's clear he's not that guy, he just knows how to be that guy when he wants to.

@punkycrisps: He's obviously doing it just to annoy Jason.

I'm 90 seconds in and Dan has just started talking directly to Jason, but he's looking off-screen to his left, away from Jason, and Jason in turn has looked away off-screen to his right and it's the only thing I can focus on now, despite the amount of Lizardman.

I'm going to be cursing for not swapping them around for the rest of this video.

Yeah, I don't think that I could ever be "gaming buds" with Dan. He's way too hyper and annoying, which is odd because I don't get that vibe from him in any other context.

Like Jason, I don't get much out of fighting games by mashing buttons with characters that I don't know how to play. It's more fun to know what the hell you're doing.

Played the hell out of this entire series, although it took me awhile to pick up SC1 on the Dreamcast (I didn't realize that it was a home version of a random arcade game that I played once or twice and thought was super awesome). It bummed me out that Soul Calibur 5 had to cut so many corners to make its release date. Seems like that turned a lot of people off to the game, but what they left in there is pretty fantastic. Ultimately, I didn't have a problem with them sacrificing all of that standard extra Soul Calibur stuff in order to focus on the core fighting.

Soul Calibur is so fun. Soul Calibur 2 was the height of the series for me, however I have so many great memories of playing Soul Edge in the arcade.

Holds up so well. Kinda depressed having watched the latest Tekken 7 trailer before watching this. Had high hopes for this new generation of 3D fighters, but seems all we get it is a resolution bumb and a puppyload of screenshake.

I think we need a Bombastica of Blitz with Jeff and Dan so his smug dumb face is rubbed in it.

Yeah, when this game came out it was crazy to have so much content in a fighting game. I had so much fun with this stupid thing, really a great game.

I imagine Dan practiced before filming this, he seems like he can't stand losing :P

Also, some day we'll turn on the news and see that Jason has murdered Dan. Jason will tell everyone that he had to do it to save humanity and no one will believe him--but he'll be right.

Never played the first Soulcaliber, but I do enjoy the Jason and Dan duo. Really fun to watch.

Might be the fighting game I've had the most fun with. There was just so much to do.

Depends what you're looking for in an SC game. SC4 had the best customisation but was a terrible competitive game (albeit, not as awful as SC3 for console). SC2 and SC3 probably have the most extensive and enjoyable singleplayer while SC5 ultimately has the most refined and competitive gameplay but has a disappointing roster.

This video was really good. Probably one of the best things to come out of GB in awhile. There's something to Jason and Dan's chemistry
