Finally at Magus' castle! This should be some good times (or a total disaster). Have they equipped the Masamune I wonder?

I could not be more proud of Ryan Davis right now! ...hopefully the rest of the episode won't undo that.

Hahahah, suddenly the Endurance Run is based on the Viewer's (Chrono Trigger fanatics only) endurance and how long they can tolerate Ryan and Patrick going the wrong way and constantly forgetting things. That makes it funnier for me!

Ahhh, I remember when the kids in elementary school would circle around me, causing me to spin at an impossible speed. Kids are cruel.

@H_Donna_Gust This has been by far the best aspect of ALL the endurance runs they have done. I am actually almost finished with this game on the iPad and have enjoyed every moment of it. It's even better watching them go through everything - especially when they get stuck. I am amazed they remembered to give Brog magic.

Ryan is starting to learn a little. Nice to see. I was afraid they would head to Magus's castle without upgrading Brog.

Here we go Monday! Off to start the Steam Winter sale on a good note.

Got a bit hairy there for a moment, and two of the party members didn't even have hair.

Alright, we're making progress towards becoming competent Brono Trigger players. Now they just need to start to roll with Barle for healing and they should be fine.

Oh man, I'm so glad they didn't give up on the Slash battle when things turned sideways. It was so frustrating to watch them give up on MasaMune when they easily could've solo'd him with Brono alone in just a few more turns.

It's not like they were like "Duuuuh, Where do we go?" They knew they had to go to a cave in the general area, and before actually seeking it out, they were going to cover all of their bases and talk to everybody. That's how you play JRPGs.

Yeah, compared to earlier episodes, they spent very little time wandering around. They talked to a few NPCs, got the info they needed, then went and found the cave without a hitch. All things considered, not bad at all.

If I had one issue with you guys playing the game it's the you constantly get a new attack, use it once on the wrong enemy so it does little damage, and then assume it's a shit attack. For example, the rats in the cave are highly resistant to physical attacks, yet you kept slashing them, even going as far as to use a triple attack and call it bad. Pay attention guys.

Oh dear gods, how did they get away with that? Good to see some aggression winning the day. Nothing is worse in a JRPG than a continuing cycle of trying to regain health while taking too much damage to make it worth it.

They got pretty lucky with Slash. At about 34:45 he gets stuck at frogs corpse, preventing him from walking over and attacking brono and bobo.... probably would have been gameover otherwise. A win's a win tho!

Today wasn't that bad -- it's just that whenever they don't immediately go to their next destination when it's clearly been stated previously, I can't help but go "well, fuck, I sure hope this isn't gonna take up the remainder of the episode", because there's definitely precedence for that. The Magic Cave had been accesible from the moment they crossed the bridge, but they never examined it closely enough to find the entrance. Not to mention how they still haven't found the Hunting Range in the Prehistory to this day.

Whoa, there's a hunting range in prehistory? I finished the game twice and never found that.

That whole castle section still works. Damn.

Let's use the all physical triple tech on the physical attack resistant enemy! Great!

Edit: OH MAN, and later on you do the exact opposite with using an elemental attack against an enemy that is strong against them and decide that dual and triple techs are clearly worthless. You couldn't make that shit up.

Now that he knows magic, Brog can equip the Masamune.

The hunting range is in the jungle to the upper right of the Ioka village. It is kind of hard to spot, but it's the place the rare monster appears, which you can beat up for some extra tech points and a bunch of the tradable items. It's a ridiculously good place to get feathers/petals/horns/etc for getting better equipment. It should be important for them to visit during the next trip there anyway.

Indeed. The Endurance Run means everyone must endure. Although I don't know how much longer I can hold out. I think I'll just buy this game and play it myself, at least I won't get Bryan's harsh condescending attitude and Batrick's annoying personality.

They were so lucky with Slash. And the fact that they think they were responsible for defeating is aggravating: he got stuck on Brog's corpse and couldn't "Yes Indeed!" them. I COULDN'T believe Bryan kept reviving Brono only to have him be killed immediately...

If you're going to do the "B" joke, then at least do it right. Ryan's name is not Rryan.

Man it only takes like 3 Triple Raids to win that battle vs Slash. Too bad they wrote it off because they used it on a rat that's highly resistant to physical attacks. Hope they get it together for the Flea boss fight or they are gonna get smashed.

Also, you people all crying foul about Patrick remembering more than he claims. Pretty clear example of that in this episode. Although I really don't mind myself. I hope he does keep hinting Ryan towards the right direction whenever they get stuck.

Either way, Magus's Castle is crazy times. Get hype!

Man, watching these two play an RPG is a horrifying experience.

This episode was fucking bad-ass! Good job on recovering on that boss battle Ryan.

Man, these guys are sooo crap at playing this game and paying attention to *anything*. I started playing this game again JUST so I could see a better version, I just watch this for the train wreck it's become. Magus' castle is going to kick their asses completely. That triple tech they wrote off because they used it on a physical enemy was hitting for 1100ish on the bosses for me, it came in super handy. I'm hoping their utter and total defeat here will cause them to clue in some... but hey.. I'm not holding my breath... At least I'm already at the kingdom of Zeal.

I really enjoy these.

These long weekends without the ER sucks, but at least I have something to look forward to.

I'm enjoying the endurance run, I just wish there was more happening per episode.

All I hear from most of the comments:

"Dur you guys suck i'm much better at this game!"

They've never claimed to kick ass at this game or RPGS also part of the reason you watch these is to see them fail and thus hilarity ensues! If they were just straight kicking ass through this game it would not be entertaining!

It might be OCD, but it's so obnoxious to see Ryan using Bobo who's already almost out of MP to heal, while frog has a ton of MP just sitting there waiting to be used.

Masamune can cut cliffs in half but can barely hurt a rat.
