Depends on if they do the side quests or not. Thankfully the dude at the End of Time straight-up tells you, "Hey, before you go do this thing you've got these side quests you can do, and here's a list of them all."

Also Spire is the most goddamn metal dual-tech in the game.

Given the rough time they had with Giga Gaia, this upcoming fight is going to manhandle them. The fights do tend to get a bit harder here on out.

I hope they end up doing all of the sidequests, i.e. the Masamune power-up quest. I've also been playing this on the DS, and goddamn is that version better. If that version got the Cave Story Plus treatment on PC/Mac/PS3/360/Wii/Vita/3DS, now that would be amazing! The DS version is so good and it's only on DS and iOS, so sad.

Oh god I remember this fight and never continuing on with this game.

Sooner or later, you have to go GG! With all their fumbling and bumbling, they still win. I haven't played CT in such a long time, but I remember is that as long as you dont make the critical mistakes, you can tank out most of these bosses.

Before every boss fight someone has said something like this and it hasn't happened yet.

If anyone is still trying to figure out exactly when this is being recorded, it's not as far back as some of you think. Jeff tweeted a picture of the Giga Gaia boss fight on Dec. 22. I'm not sure how much the guys were in the office the last two weeks (I imagine not a whole hell of a lot). I propose that tomorrow's episode may even be recorded today.

Man, I don't know why these teams always ignore half the party characters. And they're going to have to rely on some of them pretty soon.

Love Schala's Theme. They are getting to the high point of this game if not already passed it.

The heal was only 3 MP. The Gold Stud would have made that 1 MP, but it's not like they needed to give Bobo an Ether more than once in that long fight. I personally remember putting the Gold Stud on Brono when I played, and I don't think I ever changed it. It would have helped here too, as they kept spending 8 MP with Brono on every cast of Spire.

On the bright side, those cavedudes living below the mountain won't have the sun blocked now after that silly thing crashed down and deflected off of their mountain resistant village.

Correct, and two red vests make this fight unloseable. However based on the commentary they haven't discerned the advantage between "cut" and "absorb" in the item descriptions. Ah well. Nothing stops the endurance run.

The remaining party members do not have the benefit of gaining xp while in the End of Time right? Hopefully the XP level gain is scaled to help them progress faster if they do decide to make the change.

This fight is is so easy with Ayla and Frog. Falcon Strike the arms and group heal with frog. then volt bite the head.

That's who I tend to use a lot too. Ayla and Frog's combined heal is nice too.

I rolled with Frog and Marle for a while. Frog and Marle's dual tech was pretty awesome for a while and the girl has mad heals.

They still get exp, but I think it's a tad smaller percentage than if they participated.

I was wondering about that too, but then I remembered that the wave occurs because of something else that happens a bit later on. I'll spare the details though.

You'd think the mountain would do that for certain though.

This episode reminds me of the work I'm doing. Science is not what the masses think it is and it is also not superior to other methods of investigation. The way they start off by theorizing a process to defeat Giga Gaia and then apply their theory and having it falsified is science; their being scientific. Science isn't Bunsen burners and omega-3 etc. The faith in science is not what science really is and science has nothing to do with technological development.

Bunsen burners are tools used in science, technology is the net product of scientific discovery, so of course it has to do with science.

Science is a methodology for uncovering reality in the natural world, far and away the best, most successful method of investigation humans have ever come up with. I defy you to name something better. Blind faith? Guesswork? Don't be silly.

And settle down on the music thing. People have always hummed along with tunes. It's not annoying in the slightest to most. If you love the music so much you want to hear it in its purest form, download it and listen to your heart's content.

They (the game designers) probably didn't want to overuse that wave scene. After all, when it does happen it makes Mt. Woe look like a good day.

I think Bobo should have been equipped with an accessory that would boost his speed since he's the healer. You always need to have the healer ready to heal as quickly as possible just in case something goes wrong.

Rage Band says, "50% counter attack rate." The Berserker says, "Auto Attack / Hit and Def. Up."

I agree that the wording on the descriptions are far from perfect, but they do say what they do. And, as said, comparing the descriptions will tell you that rage band does not make you lose control like berserker.

That being said, I'm not bothered by it when they miss something, or do something that I wouldn't do. I just enjoy watching the videos.
