Endurance Run: Persona 4 - Part 54

I did warn you guys that the post-fuck up section wasn't worth waiting for. The pre-fuck up part was good, but after that there was only around 15-17 minutes of aimless wandering, and Vinny was too lazy to find the person before stopping to top it off.

Honestly (as in, non-troll), every episode after 50 has been poor-average. Short run-times (all under 30 minutes, 3 close to 20), aimless wandering and a general lack of anything happening to laugh at. I hope they get their act together sooner rather than later.

It'll be like that up to episode 56, and then after that they should be able to continue playing in longer segments.

Episode 56 should be pretty decent - they fight the bonus boss - but I'm not so sure about episode 55. I need to learn how to get screen-caps of future episodes that have been uploaded onto the site but aren't yet viewable.

This is from the Official Persona 4 Guide :

1. On the 24th, go to the Practice Building's 2nd floor hallway to talk to the chubby student. After talking to him,  go to the Tofu store and talk to Rise's mother .

2. On the 25th, go to the Flood Plain and talk to the Photographer. Trade information with him by saying "I think she's stressed". Talk to him again and this time reply with "She's different on TV" . You'll hear a chimeindicating you've got the information necessary to give to Teddie to find here.

The dungeon has 11 floors, there are bosses on the 7th and 11th floors.

RPG 101: When in doubt, talk to EVERY NPC. Ignore no-one.

There's no point telling them what to do, by the way: they've already recorded episode 56, and maybe even higher. I have no idea why they try to make out this is an interactive thing, asking fans for help, when they record these episodes together.

God it's frustrating watching you two struggle on this part, when I'm sitting here knowing exactly what you need to do. I really didn't enjoy these parts of Persona 4 though, they seemed pointless, time consuming and fairly unimformative about where you need to go and when to find the information.

I wonder if you can take teddy outside of the TV with you....

he becomes a real bear and eats you & scores with the two girls.

or maybe he becomes a stuffed bear and fox uses him as a chew toy.

Would that not be the game's fault?  I'm sure they did what everyone else who played this game did: wander around talking to every NPC.

They didn't talk to everyone, otherwise they would've known what to do before the 29th minute.

And Jeff could've easily gone on a PC, looked on GameFAQs and found who to talk to that way if they didn't want to talk to everyone. I get that they're trying to do it on their own for the most part but wasting 15 minutes, checking online before starting the next episode and then acting like they found the NPC themselves isn't much better.

I empathise with Jeff and Vinny here; I hate getting stuck like this in games.

I almost want Vinny and Jeff to fuck everything up for the next couple episodes just to watch everyone's heads explode.

***Insert long comment detailing how seriously I take Persona 4, and by extention these videos which are by no means supposed to be a form of entertainment. And that I'm a douche***

making all these detailed comments about what Vinny and Jeff should do just completely defeats the purpose of doing this Endurance Run in the first place.

It's not hard. By this point in the game, players should be accustomed to talking to NPCs to obtain information and quests. That's why they got a whole bunch just by talking to people; they were supposed to get those quests some time ago. There's actually someone who tells you that the paparazzi isn't there every day and you have to come back tomorrow. But even still they're not talking to everyone like they should, which is why they don't know that yet.

It doesn't take long to talk to people and obtain the required information. But when you wander around and don't actually talk to people, of course it's going to take awhile.

I'm sure they'll get things rolling again in the next episode.  Just watching their reactions to everything provides plenty of entertainment for me.  I don't know if my posts for the previous two videos were 'out of line' or 'blah', but they were simply gameplay advice tidbits that may help them out for some issues they weren't sure about (like fixing the camera in dungeons and what the S-Link dialogues actually meant).

I actually don't blame Vinny and Jeff on this one, it took me a bit to find the reporter. This is really kind of an archaic RPG device tripping up the flow of ER.

dude, I totally bet that that key comes off of the bribed fuzz in steamy bathroom 1-2.

It's moments in this episode that reminds me that this is really an "endurance" run.

Investigation Team... Boned!

This is the one time in the game where it looks like it would cause teeth to grind together. I know there is a fine line between hand feeding the player and dropping hints, but come on. You think they'd drop you more of a bone than some guy who may or may not be on the riverbank.

Man Aion sucks so much. 

I made a habit of talking to every NPC after every dungeon was cleared. I did this because, after you clear a dungeon and can go back to it, new quests open up that allows you to get item drops from old monsters who previously dropped nothing. So, when I had to get information, talking to every NPC wasn't a new thing for me.

Before going back to Yukiko's dungeon, Vinny should've talked to the NPCs, gotten quests, killed monsters on the way back up to the top floor, got quest items and completed quests. He didn't. It isn't a big deal because most quest rewards suck in P4, but it can't hurt to do the quests if you're going to go back up to the top floors of old dungeons for the boss fights.

I understand that talking to NPCs doesn't make for quality entertainment, but it's better than wandering around for 15 minutes and geting nowhere. Some things just need to be done for the greater good.

Anyway. All the episode 55 preview shots showed was Vinny finally telling Nanako about her mother. Beyond that, no information about 55 is up yet. I can only hope we don't have to endure Vinny showing his investigation skills again for most of the episode. But, like I said before, I'm pretty sure 56 will be the first truly non-sucky episode since 50 - it has a boss fight - and that won't be confirmed until Monday.

And that's one of the biggest reasons why I just can't bring myself to play through most RPGs. Once it starts getting grind-y / job-y my interest declines immensely. :)

finally! rise's dungeon! well, you need to talk to guys in school, don't remember who or where though so tought luck. and yes, 'tomorrow' in more ways than one is when you'll find the guy...

also, finish this dungeon as fast as possible plz, end of it is awesome, and it might screw you over if you leave it to last minute again.

and this video didn't screw up for me, luckily, the last one did about 30 seconds from the end though, guess i'm just lucky

One thing i hate about Rpg's and it always happens, wandering around looking for someone or something. so annoying >.>

Dispite the way you guys have been handling the dungeons in this game so far, you might wanna beat Rise's dungeon or try and grind out a few levels earlier than you all have before.  The boss at the end might give you some trouble, but if your party is strong enough and you have a few stronger Personas it'll be a much less stress inducing experience for the two of you.

Vinny's not the smartest knife in the drawer, but that just makes watching him play all the more enjoyable.

To get Rise's dungeon

First. Talk to the fat guy in the first floor
Second. Talk to Rise's grandma at the tofu store
And Third: The papazzari will appear in the flood plain
