You guys are gonna destroy that king easily now.

They were so lucky to survive that fight. I think I was yelling at the screen when they equipped Sarasvati. I guess it's lucky they didn't have Kanji with them for that fight (He's weak to Wind), but he's still a pretty cool character and damage dealer.

Don't get ambushed. A lot of spell casters have spells that hit everyone now and, if any of your characters have a weakness to it, things can go south very quickly.

Chie stops being useful in boss battles after this dungeon until she learns power charge, but once she does she's your hardest hitter so she shoudl be kept up in level.  Yukiko's weakness plus the fact most high level magic personas cast fire, she doesn't get mind charge, and the MC heals much better made her a victim at the end.  Yosuke  is always useful becaue of his buffs, wind spells and Tentarfoo but his physical attacks can be ignored and shoudl eb dropped soon.

Can't wait to see them beat the King and finally get Yukiko's uber-fan.

You guys should do just fine against the optional boss in the castle now, and the weapon you get for Yukiko is worth it, so go kick his ass!

Kanji's dungeon has an optional boss now too, and it's nowhere near as hard as the king was. Running back through the sauna is a good way to get a bit of extra exp before heading out into the stripclub, and while you're there you'll probably end up getting most of the items you need for all those quests you opened up.

Yeah, if they run right to the top of the sauna, only fighting the enemies they have to, they could get thru it pretty quickly while picking up good EXP and items.

They are underleveled to a degree, they really should clear the levels fully

All of these quest items people want are the materials that you sell to Daidara. So you should remember what you need for quests so if you get one after a fight you don't sell it.

Also you need to add Kanji. Kick out Yosuke, he's a d-bag.

No they're not. Most of those items cannot be obtained until you get the quest. You can tell because of the type of icon that represents the item. That's not a material icon.

However, there are some requests that do require you to obtain materials. For those ones you should complete the quest before going to Daidara.

The biggest problem they have is they have a bunch of quests for Yukiko's Castle (The Angel from before, the Ritz Wire,  the board, (and others they haven't got yet!)) and they are unlikely to do a quick run to get those and they are cutting off future quests becuse of it.

Nice work, can't wait till you reach the end of this dungeon. For me, it was probably the most mind-blowing moment of the game.

Dude use Kanji. He's way cooler than Yosuke.

"Kanji may be the weakest overall of the party members. His SP pool is low, and his magic stat lags behind virtually everyone else in the game. Even though he learns Elec Boost and Elec Amp, you just can't rely on Kanji for dealing huge Elec damage the way you can rely on Yosuke for Wind and Yukiko for Fire. While his prodigious Strength and Physical skills make up for this in the middle portion of the game, Kanji is crippled by never receiving Power Charge the way Chie does. He can be useful in a Phys-oriented party in the endgame, otherwise he has little to contribute to boss fights."

Kanji's Primal rage is significantly stonger then Chie's god hand, 2 Primal rages will give you about 20% more damage then power charge + god hand. And SP doesn't really matter IMO, for regular fights whenever low you can just hop out and talk to fox, while in boss fights hes not going to be casting much. Not to mention that you can just keep the weaker elec skills and just use those for the exploiting of weaknesses cheaply (who cares about the damage? its thie all out attack you want). Also, chie cries cause she doesn't have matarukaja ;)

If any of the party members is weak, its (spoiler) who has light/dark stuff. Can do absolutely nothing against bosses except use weak physical attacks or spending INSANE amounts of SP to do almighty damage less then Yukiko/Yosuke would. She is really nice for the regular fights, but you can pretty easily make a persona that does the exact same things.

i wouldn't mind seeing Kanji get a turn, just to see how he fights and stuff

I don't really know how useful Kanji is, I'm just quoting the guide. I didn't really end up using Kanji or Chie very often, and I haven't even used the light/dark character once. Maybe on my third time through the game.

Yeah, give Kanji a try. Hes virtually a tank, has usually the highest attack and hp values of your party and in cmbat he is at least as good as Chie (who is the only expendable one of the original 4 imo, Yosuke and especially Yukiko are essential to me). Besides that his comedic relief is hillarious.

Late game you are casting Mediarahan every round anyway (at least, I definitely was forced into it on hard mode, else bosses would wipe me). Mediarahan doesn't care whether its healing you from 300 to 700 or 100 to 700. And again, Matarukaja is golden. Sure you can cast it yourself, but you can only do so many things. Though honestly all the characters are powerful enough that for the last 1/3rd of the game it doesn't matter what you take as long as you have a healer.

What about galactic punt? IMO, its far more reliable than Kanji's slam thing, even though it can potentially down multiple targets.

I think you're right in the endgame though that they're pretty much equal.  I confess that I didn't use Kanji that much even when he had primal force, only because I got so accustomed to using Chie's power charge + (insert physical skill).  Thing is, power charge is available early and it goes pretty well with any physical skill including rampage.  Now I'm not too sure when Kanji gets his group attack buff...if its as early as Chies power charge combo, then groupwise, it could potentially do more damage.

I used Kanji in place of Chie, though I doubt the guys will be going that route

Meh, I don't really include the follow up attacks, so random. Though I loved when chie decided to kick one of the mid dungeon bosses :D. IMO, best thing about chie is her multi hit AoE physicals. My party early on was basically me using sarasvati for invigorate (and her fusions later) casting media every turn, with chie using her rampage and everyone else was using physical skills. Chie was cleaning the mobs up wonderfully. Got through the first third of the game literally never needing to spend SP on fights except for a few tough enemies.

BTW, Kanji gets matarukaja 5 levels or so after Chie gets Power Charge I think. Sadly he doesnt have tarukaja up to the point, which sucks.

It's cool seeing from the comments how everyone personally played the game. I brought Kanji into the party in favor of Yosuke and fused 4-elemental, physical, and buff/debuff personas for my MC. This way I had my MC as any role I needed him to be in, Yukiko with her ridiculous SP pool as my dedicated healer/fire goddess, and Chie and Kanji as my physical powerhouses. To each his own, but I agree they should def at least give Kanji a chance as their only reason for not using him, his S.Link, is a moot point as his levels up much faster and he starts off at a comparable level.

I rec you at least try out using Kanji for a little bit, using him now for a few floors of the Strip Club will probably let you make your decision. Even though I think he IS the worst party member in battle, he is still fun to use just because he's Kanji.

Yea, My team is Yosuke, Chie and Yukiko. Having a high S.Link really boost them in battle. Yukiko has her massive pool of SP, if that wasn't enough. If you max out her S.Link she get a massive boost in the magic stats. Midway in my game, Yukiko was so strong that her fire skill was double the damage then anyone on the team.
