Yup, Chie's new persona lost her weakness.  Perhaps time for an accessory change?

Haha great episode, been waiting for a maxed social link with one of the girls.

I'm really disappointed that the wristbands don't appear on the character model, surely that's the point of them like as in a new 'costume' upgrade?

Dude...I cannot wait till they go to Gekkoukan.... those scenes are probably the most funny in the game, and these guys are going to have a field day with them.

I'm not sure, but I think Persona 4 just won the "Most Awkward Hug of 2009" Giant Bomb Award.

I was totally hoping Naniko/Dojima would barge in to put the perfect button on that scene.

Interesting change to the Persona upgrade system compared to Persona 3.

In P3, you had no control over their persona changing, it was a story event.

But now it depends on your relationship level becoming lvl 10.

It also means you have less freedom in who you want to max earlier in the game (if you like stat bonuses), some what forcing you to focus on playable characters before NPCs.

The persona changing events in P3 were a bit melodramatic at times but a key part of character development, but P4 makes it a bit shrugged off and not as important but actually puts you in an active role to make them change.

Rise's got some stat attributes too, you know what I'm saying?

You might as well change Chie's accessory now, since she doesn't have a weakness anymore(which makes that anti-fire accessory a bit of a waste). She also nulls ice now, which isn't as awesome of a change as getting rid of the fire weakness but I'm sure not complaining.

As for the new persona that unlocked...In general, all of the max s-link personas are really high level - this might seem kind of lame right now, but it's a lot better than Persona 3 where half of those personas were really lame because they were down in the 50s while the other half was Lv.70+. Many of the max s-link personas are made via normal fusions as well, so you won't always see a new entry in the 4+ way fusion menus. The items you get from maxing s-links are the trigger for being able to fuse those new personas - which mostly matters in New Game+, where those items carry over and allow you to fuse max s-link personas without having to actually max the s-link again.
I wouldn't say that the game's not intending you to start maxing things this early(especially with party members, who you're going to be focusing on *anyway* to get bonuses like follow-up attacks, curing people of status effects after knocking down an enemy, etc), it's just making sure that all of the personas you get from Lv.10 s-links are useful all the way until the end of the game(as opposed to the disappointment of having some of them only be useful for a short while in the middle).

The wristbands don't do anything.  You can carry them over to a new game+ so you can still fuse the ultimate Chariot persona.

Yeah, Aug 12th is the final day for the void quest. So you should try hard in the dungeon.

It bears repeating (and so you guys don't miss it), but this week is your last week to finish the dungeon before it's game over.  The deadline is August 12.

Wh00t!  Rank 10!!!  Oh, that makes me happy. :3  By the way, I say you should concentrate on Rise, Yosuke, and Yukiko.  Whenever Rise isn't around, go hang out with Yosuke and max him so he can live through fatal blows and have no weaknesses (and null wind, which is always a plus, even though his evolved persona looks ridiculous).

Then hang out with Yukiko whenever Rise's not there.  PARTY FIRST, GUYS.  Maxing out your A Team will be one of the KEYS to winning your fights (or at lesat giving you an easier time fighting).

Anyway, can't wait for the next episode!  :3  Babies gonna buuuurn~

When Personas evolve, their elemental affinities change. Chie is no longer weak to fire, which is a big help, and also nulls ice damage. Most of your party members will lose their weaknesses after maxing out, but the two exceptions are Yukiko and Teddie, who gain an extra resistance instead. Not as useful, but those characters are pretty stacked in terms of useful skills so they had to figure out some way to balance them, I guess.

Master the other girls social links. You can have multiple girlfriends and it doesn't really matter. You get benefits overall but it's fine if you stick with Chie, but you're just limiting your social link status.

What a weird coincidence, I was literally eating homemade nachos and then they started the whole nacho discussion.

I'm not so sure about meat going with nachos, so I'm with Vinny. I make mine using Tostitos scoops, then I put tons of melted nacho cheese, salsa, guacamole, green onions, olives, sour cream, beans, and jalapenos on top. So delicious, but it's a heart attack in a bowl.

A few people have commented that the 12th is the last day. So, given that they're unaware I think folks should help out by useing legend of zelda bold text to tell them that the 12th is the last day.

By the way the game ends on the 12th.

This has to be the best ER episode yet! All those benefits from maxing the S.link were pretty awesome & the scene witch Chie was totally worth it too. Keep em coming :)
