Yeah it's BS that they wouldn't let Alyson Court come back as Claire in RE2. She damn near begged to do it.

Its really odd watching the generation seven watered-down choice wave continue to make itself out to be a start to such a concept rather than a dip in the concept before a rebound lately.

I'm 100% with Vinny on the phone. I have a 6S as well; got it back when it was the newest model. And I don't want a new one. It'll be such a pain to upgrade to anything. I pretty much hate all of the "upgrades" that iPhones have gone through since then. When I inevitably have to get a new phone, though, I am also considering going Android instead. I need a headphone jack, and don't want to support the removal of them. But I've heard that Android phones are also starting to remove them, so...

Why can't Alex get the name of the game right? It's "Travis Strikes Again"

100% behind Vinny on the phone thing. It's totally feasible to have your phone last 5+ years despite what people say. I'd say he should really look into non-flagship Android stuff. Though I'm dismayed that the flip phone form factor went out of style (there's no apriori reason you couldn't build a "smart" one of those with a touchscreen, in fact I used to have an MPX which was arguably "smart").

Pretty jealous that Bakalar basically pulled a Dan Ryckert and got to meet Patrik Elias. That's pretty amazing!

vinny is 1000% correct re: phones.

Absolutely.

It's shocking and depressing how wilfully the others have bought into the sort of disposable consumerism that's destroying the planet.

@afroofdoom: yeah- that's the part that kills me. i mean, if people have both the income and desire to adhere to a manufacturer's 2-year cycle on buying new phones- i guess that's your prerogative. but when you couple the expense with active corporate resistance to 'right to repair' legislation...and THEN consider the environmental impact of creating 'disposable' phones...it's a depressing situation.

phones need to have user replaceable batteries and screens. device thinness be damned- the only reason they don't is because manufacturers profit off your inability to service your own phone.

Aw man, super bummed to hear the lukewarm response to Hell or High Water at the end. That was a real roller coaster ride of a movie in theaters and it's only been better on repeat views on Netflix. The first time I saw the movie I had a minor problem with the kind of action-y twist it takes in the third act but rewatching it I actually came to appreciate how that worked for the story they were telling.

That movie has such a fun sense of humor but also a pretty interesting moral dilemma and shows a side of the country we don't often get to see; it's like a two hour Red Dead Redemption II side quest. Really surprised it got an enthusiastic two thumbs down from Abby, that's come to be my favorite movie from 2016 I think. Which, wow, looking back that was a super fun year to go to the movies: Arrival, The Nice Guys, Doctor Strange, Manchester by the Sea, Moonlight, La La Land, Deadpool, Civil War, Rogue One and that Batman/Superman disaster.

I guess I could go Manchester by the Sea or Moonlight if I wanted to go highbrow, La La Land if I wanted to go pure movie magic or Arrival if I wanted a little something in between, but I'm always a sucker for small stories led by capital A Acting and Hell or High Water went neck and neck with Manchester and Moonlight for me with just a little extra dose of humor that makes it zip along and really feel like a total package.

Oh well, maybe I'm just a 30 year old career bartending boomer!

Alex bought Constantine on Blu-Ray?

Perhaps the Keanu Film & 40's may finally happen.

Film & 40s can easily contain with one simple blu-ray: The Scorpion King 5 movie collection. Yes there are 5 of them.

Also I'd love to stay on my old flip phones but maaaan I get lost turning the corner. I used to be real bad about getting anywhere pre-navigational devices. Reminds me that my Windows phone was crazy good for almost everything including stellar battery life, clean AI, and sturdy case without needing an exterior one to purchase. Bad thing is it didn't have the Google apps so their versions, like Map, were hard to use/rely on.

iPhone SE is the best phone ever. I’m planning to ride this phone for at least 5 years, or more if iOS support continues.

Vinny spreading the good gospel.

But the idea that you need to go for a flagship phone to have a good experience is just false. My sister was on a Samsung S7 when i got my 100 euro Moto C+, and while there were clearly some big differences between those two models, the screen , the camera & the security features were the most noticeable . My sister was like wow.. if this is so good already, why would i need a flagship phone? She went with a 200 euro samsung model instead.

If you're not straight up using it as your primary game / vr machine or storing nationwide secrets on it that need to be protected with the power of your RETINA, why spend all that money on a phone? I guess status is a thing?
