Clarification on the Yakuza statement made by Austin. All the mainline Yakuza games have been available in the West but this is the first time that all the mainline Yakuza games will be available on the same console (PS4) and without cut content (Yakuza 3).

A quick correction for Austin about the place you go to in Astral Chain. That place was still on the Ark it was just a sector that got quarantined and walled off from the rest of the Ark 20 years ago because of a massive and unprecedented outbreak. Anywhere you go in that game is on the Ark since it is floating in the middle of the ocean.

I like Austin but he tries to dominate every conversation he takes part in. It's 3 hours of hearing a man about his opinions with the Beastcrew chiming in.

I also don't see where this "sad" Legion thing in Astral Chains come from. I never saw that angle at all outside of the opening.

Guys if you like control you should check out the SCP Archives Podcast! Narrative Fiction where they read the entries and also come up with like little stories about the discovery of the object or its retrieval, stories from agents in the field or researchers who are studying the objects. Funny enough one of the writers of Control is a big fan and that’s why the DLC is named The Foundatio, a little wink to the SCP’s shadow government of the same name.

@bigwinnerx: I think this is the first time we’ve had a 3 hour Bombcast AND Beastcast in the same week in like 2 or 3 years at least.

It's tough but important to hear more people talk about the holowka stuff. In the dirge of the literal garbage can of bullshit and hatred being spewed at the people who came forward about abuse, hearing things like Austin talking about how he's heard Scott mention similar stories years ago affirms the reality that this wasn't just a single story some idiot can call "the lie that killed a man" and we all know the crowd of people that have been doing just that and harassing even the mans sister.

It's pretty sick that people are making this reaction when even Benson came forward with similar stories and corroborations. This was something people knew about in bits in pieces, not some grandstanding accusation to ruin someone. How this ended as a result is a tragedy

Edit edit: Recore is still bad. I played it last year and the game starts literally falling apart at the seams after about ten hours. Glitches and bugs, broken enemy behavior, falling through the world... it's rough. it's rouuuugh.

The fabled triple edit: Sweater-chair guy, you made a mountain out of a mole-hill when you stood up for twenty minutes instead of just, like, asking Dave to move his sweater. Him draping his sweater over your chair was weird, but use your words.

Raven open sourcing Jedi Outcast isn't especially weird. Remember that it's running off the Quake3 engine, which has been open source for over a decade. Also remember that just because a game has been open sourced doesn't mean that all the assets are included in the repo package. If you're wanting to compile and run those Id games you need to provide your own copy of the game with the pak files which contain the maps, models, sounds, textures, etc. I don't imagine there's any Star Wars copyrighted assets being distributed with Raven/Id's source code.

@justabard: Social media shouldn't be used to weaponize a mob, but that seems to be its only function anymore. The sister had people telling her they were glad he was dead, and hoped he suffered and I bet that wasn't the crowd you mentioned. The handling of this entire situation is a perfect example of how you shouldn't do things.

That's interesting and not something that had occurred to me but seems obvious now (about the assets). Thanks.

Also have to keep in mind that the act of open sourcing commercial software tends to involve a fair amount of clean-up and due diligence (making sure that all the components you're releasing you actually have the right to release.) I recall Carmack talking about having to re-engineer the shadow algorithm from Doom3 before Doom3:BFG could get open sourced because their legal department was nervous about Creative Labs' patent on the method.

@adamalc: The allegations against Alec were not made to weaponize any mobs. They were made to bring the accused out into the spotlight and empower others to speak out as well.

I wish every chapter in Astral Chain was as good as the one where you leave the city (minus stealth sections). Its kind of made worse by the chapter after it being the worst in the game, I’m genuinely surprised that game reviewed as well as it did with how easy the S ranks come, and how boring the story and characters are.

@bonelessspirit: Really? Well you know what they say about the road to hell. I'm curious, after seeing what happened here, do you actually believe people will be more likely to come forward?

@the_valhura: It's weird that the only talk/coverage in its early release week is an hour of Jeff sounding miserable showing off a section of the game he's already completed and barely touching 2/3 of the package which is pvp/horde (I know it's not easy to find matches pre-release but you can also run it with bots).

@maxxcanti: She takes a lot of abuse on pretty much any platform she's on, so while I obviously don't know why I wouldn't blame her for an itchy block finger.

@adamalc: Yes I do. There were allegations against several other people as well and I think this is going to push more people to speak up in the future.
