VR is unpopular because it's expensive as hell, not because there aren't appealing enough games to warrant buying it. Putting a AAA Half-Life game on VR is a bummer because 1% of PC players will actually be able to play it. No amount of sick ass games is going to manifest $1600 in my bank account so I can afford an Index and a 2080.

Is GB secretly hiring Ron Funches? The way they are secretly hiring any person they ever have any contact with?

You need to find a different battle to fight because James Woods absolutely sucks for a whole number of a reasons, not limited to him being a conservative Republican.

Holy shit, really? This is what you're going with?

I'm a 41-year-old married father of 2, squarely what many would call a successful Gen X-er, and all of your milestones are what turned me INTO A LIBERAL.

There's nothing like reflecting on life's "accomplishments" to see all the help I had along the way, all the advantages I (unwittingly) enjoyed simply because of my white male-ness. Success made me realize that the deck is stacked from birth against the less fortunate, and the political system is designed to keep it that way. I did not have to work as hard as my peers of color and yet I ended up with more positive results.

Getting a job, having kids, buying a home, and paying taxes are what changed my tune from "Welp I was raised Republican so I guess that's what I am" to "Holy shit, Republicans have rigged this game to maintain power at all costs, and I need to do everything I can to fix this."

My taxes should help everyone and I pay them happily. My kids deserve a better world than we are crafting for them (e.g. climate change, wealth inequality, rising racism and authoritarianism, etc.). I have seriously considered running for local office, but thankfully I live in California and most of my views are already shared by those whom I can vote for.

Anyway - the "your tune will change" comment is a bad look, dude. Not all middle aged folks magically turn Republican. Sometimes the opposite happens.

Gonna ignore the yet-again-out-of-nowhere political battle in the comments to say Ron was a great guest. Any time a guest is on one of my favorite podcasts I usually get ready to turn it off after a few minutes, but there wasn't any awkwardness or stilted conversation in the slightest. I mean, it was pretty funny to see a slight dynamic shift where Bakalar wasn't the butt of every joke.

@mathematics: Conservatives pop up here rarely and always under the guise that they aren't welcome because they're conservative, when really it's just no one wants to talk to you because you always sound like fucking pricks. The pattern goes the same everytime, act like pricks until one or more left leaning person finally loses their temper and that's when you begin the wet blanket phase of your interactions and you bemoan how liberals are mean and you aren't welcome anywhere. It's a song on repeat. Being conservative is nothing special, most people here are just sick of your bullshit, and won't tolerate it like they used to. At some point maybe that will cause some self-reflection, but if history is any indication I doubt it. You'll just continue to get mad that a white man might actually be thoughtful and considerate of the role that privilege played in his life.

Never heard of this guy before so paused the cast and went to YouTube, wow that is 5 mins of my life I will never get back, am I missing something, guy sounds like he is doing an impression of someone who tests sledge hammers with his head 10 hours a day. What a pleasant surprise having Ron on the show. I thought he was hilarious and meshed well with the gbeast crew. Hoping they have him again at some point!

Absolutely amazing and genuinely funny guy who actually knows videos games. I actually laughed out loud several times with this episode and I'm not even halfway through.

I didn't even know who Ron was before this episode. Seems like a great guy with some strong positive energy. Really brought it. He should definitely come back. Beastcast continues to be the best podcast in the known and unknown universe!

I love all these comments that are like "yeah, they should get this Ron guy on more!" like he isn't at least a solid C+ list celebrity and it's kinda surprising they got him on once.

Yeah, dude is in like 4 movies in the next two years and appears as a regular or guest on like, a gazillion TV shows. Either way, I also like the "They should make Ron a member of the regular crew!" comments. That would be...quite a step back for Funches, no offense of course to the crew.

Never had heard of this guest. Him dunking on the GOTY choices out of the gate was great (and pretty true), but the rest of the podcast was kind of eh. As he said at the end, I guess I'm just not on his wave.
