I'm pretty much a fan of anyone related to the Irrational team. More power to them.

Edit: And he's a horror fan which is awesome although it seems like it's his wife that is a bigger one ;-)

Looking at the initial Kickstarter results, doesn't inspire me with that much confidence on them getting funded successfully, which is a shame because it looks really interesting.

I've checked the kickstarter, not sure it's my kind of thing but I hope they can make their dream project a reality.

@patrickklepek Is part of the start of the conversation missing?

There's 30 days left and they've already hit 1/10th of their goal.

@corevi: That's a pretty low percentage compared to previously funded games at this dollar level. Pathologic recently got about 50% funded during the first 2 days (Pathologic kicktraq). Unsung Story made at least 40% of its goal on the first two days (source). Outcast Reboot HD raised 10% the first day and another 10% the following day and then proceeded to miss its funding goal by a few hundred grand (source). So, despite appearances, if your game project isn't close to 50% funded after 2 days, you're already behind.

@corevi: Kickstarter projects sag considerably in the middle of the funding period. It is very rare that a project maintains some sort of linear growth in funding during that period. It generally is some sort of parabolic function.

Pretty much this. It also should be noted that this game has had a lot of exposure already so the level it is currently is not good.

Did Joe ever get his churro machine? Why aren't you asking the hard questions, Scoops?

Checked the Kickstarter page. I get that they worked in the same art style for years and years, but to make their new, independent game in that exact same art style? Even with the same old-timey trappings and anachronistic tech?

It basically looks like they're making Sander Cohen the video game, and that's tremendously disappointing.

@anytus2007: @tuxfool: Ah, didn't know. I've only ever backed one kickstarter and don't really know much about how it works.

I don't know. I mean sure, it's not the most refreshing thing to come out of this group of people, aesthetically speaking, but on the other hand it's an aesthetic that I'd love to see more of alongside the gritty tech and dark fantasy. Let it become more trope-y so others can find ways to subvert it again.

More of this please;

@patrickklepek You have a wonderful 'radio/podcast' voice - I can easily imagine you as a voice for NPR or something.

I'm disappointed in you, @patrickklepek. In the interview, it sounded like you were giving Joe multiple opportunities to throw either Irrational or the Bioshock franchise under the bus, which wouldn't have added anything meaningful to the interview.

For some reason, this interview just didn't do much for me. The game didn't sound all that interesting, and the horror movie tangents aren't my thing. Normally I'm really into Interview Dumptrucks, but I got nothing out of this one.

Going to guess this didn't end up happening.
