I remember loving Fast Five when I saw it in the theater but I forgot quite how good it is. That was a super fun watch. The running gag with Han was hilarious.

"the machine is still on Moira!".. not sure anyone you were sitting with caught that Alex, well played.

Edit: Removed rant about Dan's inability to follow along. It's just Dan. :mindblown:

There were four people all talking and yelling over each other literally the entire movie, all while drinking and trying to be fun and entertaining for the audience. There is literally zero call for any rants about any of them following along. So yes, thank you for removing it.

Oh I don't know, the most egregious example being the last scene where Alex specifically said to pay attention so they were focused on watching, and then minutes later Dan basically asking for spoilers. I think he actually isn't failing to follow along, but instead gets worried that he missed something and then is constantly asking Alex to explain things that haven't yet been explained in the film (though, a lot of it is predictable at least). I dunno if that is just how he watches movies or the 40s affect him in this way, but it would be pretty annoying if I hadn't seen these movies already.

The best movie and the best goofs. Every moment with The Rock was pure gold.

I love how when Vinny leaned into the straight man schtick towards the end, Alex and Austin just pleaded with him to stop from the bottom of their hearts. Man, we miss you Austin!

I was pleasantly surprised by how much less of a mess this movie was, just compared to how terrible 2-4 were. The action scenes were really well shot and edited in this one. The first half was really good but I felt it dragged a bit towards the end.
Overall a decent movie, but holy shit the commentary was the best yet. I was laughing so hard at some of the moments with The Rock and Ludacris. (And ghost Han)

The way everyone (including @alex) keep wondering about a Fast and Furious video game makes me wonder if Fast & Furious: Showdown is on their radar?

It is really bad, but if they really want to consume every single piece of Fast and Furious media in their order, that game does take place in between Five and Six...

@alex They filmed some of the movie in Georgia - I think the thing at the end was for that because Georgia gives film tax credits. Much of the Marvel Studios films are shot there because of it.

Georgia also gives tax credits to video games. Smite has a Georgia logo for the same reason.

Thanks out to @jetlag for saving me a few hours of troubleshooting. I took a look at the mp3 and I can only assume Vinny used some artistinal mp3 encoder made from hand carved wooden punch cards.

This was a really good movie. Easily the best of the series so far. They cram quite a lot of stuff in this one and ask you to keep up. A far cry from the slow plotting 2 and 3, where the plot is very thin.

Shoutout to Alex's 'You're my meatbrother.' Been mostly in it for the commentary so far, but 5 and Tokyo Drift certainly stood out. It's pretty amazing how this movie manages to get more over the top than a GTA mission. It's also funny how each movie snatches a person from the opposition and adds it to the crew.

2: Eva Mendes 3: Han 4: Gal Gadot 5: Ladycop.

At one hand they should've done an extra training montage with Han teaching these guys how to synchronize driving with a huge safe hanging behind them. If drifting was hard to learn, this is way crazier. Then again, it seems like we're at the point where all these people are the best at what they do and anything works instantly.

It's a shame the dudes don't really get cars that much. Because one of the best things for me is to spot the outrageous cars the guys are driving around the world. Like in the beginning of 5, they are on the run from the law, possibly low on money. But here comes Brian driving a 1970's Skyline through the streets of Rio. That is such a rare car, and possibly even rarer in Brazil that I laughed when I saw that.

Kinda like the end of 4 where Mia is driving a god damn NSX. Where the hell did they get the money for that car and the mods to go with it?

Best movie of the series so far and the best beast commentary as well. I wasn't quite sure it'd be better than Tokyo Drift but when The Rock shows up as Super Saiyen Samuel Gerard it hits a great balance of stupid fun, seriousness, and legitimately good action throughout the rest of the film.

Can't wait to see the rest of the series and listen to the beast crew's commentary. You have my wood...someone help me put my arms down.
