Furious 7 is good, but kind of messy at times.
I didn't cry at the end, I was just hydrating my eyes cause I had the fan on and it was making my eyes dry.

I already liked this series, but now I appreciate it.
What a ride. What a season. Thank you, and happy family everyone.

Alright, I'll admit that watching this movie with the commentary from the GBEast crew made me appreciate it way more, but to me this is still the worst in the series, if it wasn't for the callbacks and a few moments related to the ongoing story of the characters, it would be just like watching any generic summer blockbuster that's slightly more entertaining than usual.

My rating, after re-watching all of this series again: 1>3>2>5>6>4>7

Anyway, thank you so much guys for making this FF Film & 40s series, it has been great looking forward to watching and listening to one of these every weekend and your commentary has resulted on some hilarious moments.

P.S.: someone should make a counter of all the times drunk Alex said "guys!" or "folks!" on this one

@vinny: I'm going to turn up the audio

@danryckert, @alex: loud conversation

guys, I love y'all

but when vinny turns up the audio, you gotta quiet down a bit cause I can't hear shit :(

They should give us a time stamp half way through to sync up, trying to match the podcast and audio is near impossible.

It's all a matter of practice I guess, I usually don't have much trouble syncing it up. My trick is to turn down the volume on the movie and check if the mouths are moving at the same time as the podcast audio, then I'll pause/unpause the one that is forward to catch up to the one behind. Either that or quickly turn the volume of the movie up and down to figure out if it's forward or behind compared to the podcast (I use MPlayerX on Mac, so it's just a easy swipe up and down to control the volume). Hope any of these tips help on the next one!

Thank you so much for giving me an excuse to finally watch this franchise. It was a great ride, and I definitely might have welled up a bit at the end of 7.

Final rankings for the films: 3=5 > 7 > 1 > 6 > 2 > 4, and really, 4 is the only one I didn't enjoy.

The Kurt Russell/Jake Burton/Snake Plissken comments made compels me to let folks know that there was a recent Big Trouble in Little China/Escape From New York crossover comic book that's worth checking out. That said, looking forward to getting to this movie with the guys commentary along with it.

This was my second trip through the series, the first thanks to the How Did This Get Made crew's reviews of 5 & 6, leading to me seeing 7 in theaters and tearing up.

This time through with the guys, I think I enjoyed series even more, and I bawled like a baby For Paul. I don't know how they managed to take a kind of shitty Point Break knock-off and turn it into a huge action franchise, and then turn a huge action franchise into an honest to god celebration of la familia, but it happened, and I am so thankful it did.

Since it seems to be the thing, here's my listing: 6,5,7,1,3,4,2. This viewing of 6 with the guys really pushed it over the top and made me realise how stupidly entertaining that movie is.

What in the fuck? I like dumb ass movies, therefore I like 2, but better than 5? No way. 5 is dumb ass but way better made. Also 4 more than 7? You gotta be explaining yourself for these rankings. Can't just drop a ranking as asinine as this without some support.

This was a hell of a journey. Can't wait to see where this franchise goes and hear Vinny, Dan, and Alex's reactions to the madness it will create.

Since the ratings have begun, here's mine after watching all 7 F&F movies again.

3>5>1>7>6>4>2

Maybe 8 will squeeze in the middle if the plot doesn't hold up, but we'll see. I'll stand my ground with Tokyo Drift being the best of them. Yes it isn't as action packed and almost everyone in the movie is an asshole (minus Han and Yakuza boss Chiba), but it feels like an entity that sticks out above the rest of the franchise. They all have their own quirks and TD will always have a soft spot in my heart. Let's hope we don't see "21-years-old" Lucas Black in any of the future entries.

Also I feel bad that Alex taught everyone the wrong way to pronounce Gadot. She's Israeli so the way that Dan was originally pronouncing it was actually closer to correct

This series has been awesome, kudos GBeast.

I'd love to have Alex put the crew through the 'best' of Nicholas Cage. The Rock, Face/Off, Gone in 60 Seconds, maybe one or two more. That'd be fun.

I really dislike 4, but I rather watch 4 twice than watch 7 again without the GBEast commentary. 7 has it's nice moments but it lost the soul of the series, even though it tries to say it still has it's soul by using random cameos and call-backs. Most of 7 is just generic blockbuster action that drags for waaay too long to the point I don't even care about what's happening. Besides that, it breaks the suspension of disbelief way to much, it tries to be way more over the top than the previous movie but at the same time tries to be serious about it and it fails. It feels formulaic. Everything that happens looses it's impact because by now every main character is invincible and, when they're on a situation that their invincibility can't be used, some random "deus ex machina" moment happens and they're fine once again. Using the Saints Row analogy, if FF5 is Saints Row The Third, where it all works perfectly with the right amount of pleasant absurdity, then FF7 is Gat Out Of Hell, where it still has it's great moments but it tries so hard to top itself to the point to make me completely lose any interest for it. 7 feels like someone had a script for a concept similar to xXx and adapted it to fit the Fast and Furious franchise. And this is also worrying me for FF8, because just by looking at the trailers it feels like they're leaning even more on the idea of toping themselves and be a generic CGI blockbuster like 7 instead of going for the right balance like 5 (and half of 6).

As for 2 in front of 5, I would put 5 first but it's my personal rating and I enjoy the original three movies more than anything else in the series. 2 (and 1) is one of those movies that work like a time-capsule to a specific time, place, and culture to the early 2000s that very few movies managed to capture as well and with such goofy charm. 2 is bad but it doesn't take itself seriously, it feels like they always knew what they were working with and never tried to be bigger than they could.

Also as I said, it's my personal rating, just because you don't agree with it it doesn't make it asinine.

Oh man, that ending. I knew they were gonna address his death somehow, but I didn't realize it was gonna be like that. Paul Walker was so good in this one, too. You can definitely watch him grow as an actor in these movies once he finally figures out who Brian should be. I cry like a baby at movies so this thoroughly destroyed me. I'll miss him dearly.

This series is my favorite in films by a mile. Seeing this opening night in the theater was by far the most, I don't know what word I want here or how to say it, important I've ever seen a movie? Being part of a large crowd as it broke down en masse during the goodbye at the end was something really, really special.

I'll always be glad I went and saw this one opening night. That ending scene was really something special with a room full of fans all experiencing that scene for the first time. From tears to clapping, it's the only time I've seen audience reaction to a movie feel appropriate. I brought some friends with me who had seen the movies but weren't die hards, and this was the point where they really got hooked. We enjoyed some pre-show beers, saw the movie, and shed some tears. Now we've decided as long as they keep releasing these movies we're going to keep grabbing some beers and going to the theater as our own family.

It still makes me cry watching it. This is quite possibly my favorite movie series just for where they manage to go with it. When I started watching them years ago I never would have guessed.

Beautiful ending. Here's how good this stuff is. If all you guys did was commentary on movies, like 2 - 3 times a week, and absolutely nothing else, I would be a happy paying customer. I was looking forward to every friday for a new one of these to drop and am eagerly anticipating when and what the new movie series is going to be.

Great job!

Though I didn't cry (surprisingly, though I can't drink so if I had been, I'm sure I'd be bawling)...that ending has impacted me enough to get me to look up the song at the end and play it on repeat now

The whole movie I was worried he was going to die in the movie at some random scene, the way they handled it instead was done so much better than I could have ever imagined from such a goofy movie

Thank you so much for this feature, guys, I haven't fallen in love so completely with a new Giant Bomb feature like this in a while...I'm sorry it couldn't be forty movies but this was something special and I'd love to see you guys come back in this context in the future (and get Bakalar in!)

"Salute" would work in Italian, and Toretto sounds Italian. But then you'd have to change it to "famiglia." But the family brings people of all sorts together

I remember hearing about Paul Walker's death and basically having the reaction of well, whatever. Just some Hollywood guy who made some stupid car movies and tried his stunts IRL.

Here I am four years later actually tearing up at the end of one of those stupid car movies. I'm really looking forward to 8, but man, no Walker is gonna be rough.

Everyone talks trash about this series until they actually watch them and witness for themselves, the ending scene for this movie. Such a stupidly amazing premise as "familia" carrying 7 (8) films is a miracle on its own; and watching all these actors grow and forming attachments to them!

This is about my 5th time watching this movie and it still reduces me to utter jelly. And i've gotta give kudos to the crew for letting the last scene breathe. I was expecting outburst, but no, everything was kept for the closing words.

PS: There should definitely be some more Film & 40's. Excuse me if i'm offending anybody here but this was the thing that finally made me want to pay up. Definitely worth it/

Looks like reviews are starting to come in for 8. Obviously the reviews don't mean that much when it comes to F&F, but they're mostly positive so far for what it's worth. Just wanna say thanks for reintroducing me to this series, it made me watch the earlier movies and my appreciation for the series definitely grew as a result. I had no idea the movies tie together in such crazy ways.

Seeing all these seven movies back to back really made me feel Paul's passing in a way that I hadn't before.

RIP Paul Walker.

Also just realized that all shots of Paul Walker during the part where the package from Tokyo blows up the family house, was actually his brother acting as a body double, with Paul's face digitally inserted.

I know there are a lot of those scenes in the movie, but they're either badly lit, like the warehouse fight, or front and center and therefore more uncanny valley.

The people that did the CGI really deserve a lot of praise for managing to cut it all so naturally that you barely notice.
