I am so glad to have re-watched (in the case of the 2nd and 3rd one watching for the first time) with the GBEast crew it's been an enormous amounts of fun and i'm honestly kind of sad that there aren't more movies (for now at least) to watch after this.

Unfortunately, I find this movie to be one of the worst of the series... so many holes in the story, no attention to detail, probably because they are trying to create reasons to do the dumb stunts, rather than accent the plot with stunts. When I say that, I know a lot of people chime in and say "It's an action movie, why do you care about the story?" But that's just it... by the time we got to 4,5, and 6, this series was doing way more than it needed to do to make its timeline and story work, that is resulted in a really complex and interesting multi-movie journey that many other series with six movies could only dream of.

I think this one might be where the series "jumps the shark," in a sense, but I suppose we'll have to see what comes out of F8, to make that claim. (From the trailers... I don't have a lot of hope)

I've heard many people say they love this movie, but I think that many of them are blinded by their sentimentality from the final scene. Don't get me wrong, I teared up as much as the next guy... but it didn't make the movie great. :(

That reminds me - I finally realised today why I never made the connection that Fate = F8. The UK ads. I've seen (sides of busses mostly) only refer to the film as "Fast and Furious 8", so the only time I've heard Fate in relation to it is when Alex has mentioned it.

Still, took me longer than it should have... (then again, I only noticed "Han Seoul-Oh" was a reference once the fake ID thread was put on /r/giantbomb, so maybe I'm just bad at this!)

Edit: "No more funerals"/"Just one more" Oh man, that line stung a little more than I expected.

MAN! I've never once cried during a movie, but that got me as close as I've ever been. Genuinely touching and a perfect way to retire Paul Walker's character. THESE MOVIES SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO DO THE THINGS THEY DO AS WELL AS THEY DO THEM!!!

The Sudden passing of Paul Walker also put the people behind in a tough time, how are you gonna finish a movie when one of your lead actors dies during filming, should we even finish it, they did but with an understandable difficulty curver which they try to overcome with CGI and Paul Walkers Brothers, it can never be as good as the original planed thing, but they did try the best they could. The film can still be bad and full of plotholes, but there is no doubt the end result here was not what James Wan wanted originally.

I have to admit though I love 5 more because of The Rock, he was such a great addition to the team, and he was in this way to little, but that is just me. Looking forward to see 8.

Other than the first one that I saw in the the theater when I was a teenager, I hadn't seen any of the sequels and this was such an amazing way to go through the series. My fiance and I had a blast laughing through them with you all. Thank you guys so much for doing these and please think about doing some more.

Yeah that was alot of tears from me, and by the sound of it Dan and Vinny had a good cry as well. That ending is special in movie history, it is so genuine, they manage to go out of character to say goodbye in a way that still feels in character, they have just become these characters.

Paul Walker seemed like such a great person, and yeah, he was part of a great thing. I really miss him.

I saw 7 in theaters with barely any context, having only seen parts of 1-3, and the ending still got me. Watching it again now and it's just as you said, full of love and respect that go beyond characters in a movie.

So, to clear up any confusion about the path of Dom's necklace;

Dom has the necklace > Police lady gets it in fast 5 when Dom drops it in the favelas > Dom comes to take it back from her > Dom gives it to Letty in Furious 6 > Shaw questions Letty about the necklace, and Letty tells him to keep it, because she doesn't care > Statham takes it from Shaw in the hospital at the beginning of 7 > Statham throws the necklace at the wreckage of Han's car > Tokyo drift boy gets it, and finally, returns it to Dom.

I can't wait to see where this necklace ends up in the new film.

The first time I saw the movie I loved it before it got to the final moments. I don't really care about the "plot" in any of these movies. Focusing too heavily on trying to tell a serious story is what hurt 4 for me. Sure 7 has plot holes big enough to fly that helicopter through, but whatever. That's not what I'm watching these for. I'm here for the moments where I see something and go "Holy crap, that's amazing" or see something so insane that it makes me laugh and smile. And also to see this cast of characters get back together for more adventures. Whatever the excuse they use to get from set-piece to set-piece is kind of irrelevant to me. As long as it gives the slightest justification for the moment, I'm all good.

How does a series go from stealing DVD players and "Ejecto seato, cuz!!" to being one of the few pieces of media _ever_ to make me tear up? It has some _real_ low points, but man this series is something special.
