Film & 40s: Film & 40s: Killer Klowns from Outer Space

i had a couple of cousins who used to talk about this movie all the time when i was a kid, and it always seemed like the dumbest shit ever. flash forward 20 years to me watching it now for the first time, and it turns out that it is the dumbest shit ever, but it also turns out that it totally fuckin rules.

also, i echo the sentiment that The Thing might be too legitimately good to record a goof podcast over and that Jason X seems like exactly the right fit for this feature

The Thing is great; but the former would suit this feature better (this year).

These are always great and this one is funny as hell, but i cant be the only one who finds the raised audio to sync with worse then useless. maybe do it once half way through the film but the start is much better for us if we can just use the countdown.

That's just my 2 cents, maybe lots of other people feel differently and in that case never mind :)

Hope they do The Thing. I don't see what's wrong with doing a genuinely great movie for one of these, and everyones seen it already anyway so its not like its somehow ruined by the commentary (and if you somehow haven't seen it.....what the hell are you doing, go watch it)

Fun fact. The clown masks from this movie were repurposed for the trolls in the movie Ernest Scared Stupid.

Which is one of my go-to movies for Halloween. Nothing beats some authentic Bulgarian miak.

Was sad to hear Dan didn't spring for the Arrow collectors edition but to each their own lol. I also now permanently have the killer klowns theme stuck in my head.

@tanstaafl: Syncing at the start would be great but they'd all have to stop talking for like 5 whole seconds and that shit just ain't gonna happen. It's a pretty mild frustration in an otherwise amazing feature though so I make do.

This film has been sitting on my hard drive for YEARS as it was one of those I had on my watchlist.

This was a great way to do it. I thought I would have been scarier, and far less goofy (read: NOT campy, which is great).

Eventhough I saw it this year, I'm voting for The Thing. That film is far better than Jason X, and with these Film and 40s in mind, I'm actually for something scary and interesting instead of yet another goofy horrorflick.

I used to watch this over and over when I was 5 before speaking English. I loved it just as much then as I did today.

Christopher Titus is in this movie.

I’ve never done a Film and 40s but I decided to do this one and it was the perfect place to jump in. Please do Jason X next, that’s also the perfect kind of dumb for this feature. The Thing is too legitimately good to goof on.

Who the hell even think this is a boring movie? Millennials..

Man this was an awesome movie.

Fun Fact! That's the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk the heroes are escaping through near the end. I used to work games and concessions and I'd recognize that fucking gate under the Giant Dipper anywhere.

@haneybd87: I agree, although...I remember that Vinny mentioned on the Bombcast (years ago) that he finally saw The Thing for the first time, and didn't really get the hype around it, which, having seen it even later than him, I could not fathom!

So it'd be interesting to see if and how the movie grew on him if he suggests it for this feature. So yeah, I'm way in favor of Jason X, but both would probably be fun
