Hoping this shows Just Cause 3 in a non-terrible light. That game ran so unbelievably poorly on a base PS4 that I just gave up and deleted it.

@billyok: I had the same experience on the Xbox One. Even worse on that platform.

I can't really tell how much better The Witcher 3 is actually running. I know they patched the hell out of that game and made it much better before the pro was even a thing. Bought it on PC but ended up finishing it on PS4 because my fiancee and I had already made so much progress.

It should be noted that the Kirkhammer does a shit ton of damage in the Bloodborne card game.

I know this site isn't a comedy site, or a entertainment site, etc. but man since Dan left the West Coast stuff has been super dry. I understand and know it will get better, but man alive anything from the West Coast is content that can put you to sleep in minutes.

Rorie is one step ahead of the west coast office on all fronts, getting that switch, getting that 970, getting that captains chair.

@rebellion91: yeah, by the time Blood and Wine came out they had largely fixed the performance through a lot of patches. I think boost just makes it a little more consistent.

I'm currently on month 11 of being unemployed...and I just finished The Witcher 3. I want to get to the DLC...but I also need a job.

I like all the folks here ... just wish there was less collective mumbling, which *does* tend to zone me out. It's become endemic on the podcast.

Also, Just Cause 3 still looks like a letdown. And Ubisoft's Just Cause game doesn't look too hot either.

@upperdecker: i hate to pick favorites, but everyone else is and i've always been a west coast man, even with the move of dan and probably still with the loss of drew one of my faves. can always go for more rorie and brad, and of course jason and jeff (psst do more ranking of fighters!). gbeast stuff never really grabbed me, personally, and i'm probably one of the few that finds vinny grating *at times*, lovable as he is a majority of the time.

but again, not picking favorites and they're all pretty much equal. ;)

No Man's Sky is going for 15€ over here at the moment, that seems like an appropriate price for this...more so than 60€ at least.

@billyok: The game ran poorly on basically everything. I don't know what the performance is like now, but for the few months after release I often struggled to get a stable 30fps on my GTX 970, and even at minimum settings it still tended to hang around 40fps.

Even though I'm happy with my Switch, it does irk me that Brad said how Wii U Zelda is fine based on another outlet's coverage and now that he actually played it himself is unhappy with it.

A) Why did Digital Foundry get it so wrong?

B) Why did Brad treat it like gospel and recommend the game to their audience based on that 2nd hand info?

Not angry or anything, least of all because it doesn't effect me, but it does rub me wrong as it is irresponsible and the least he could to is apologize and/or explain.

@lonelyspacepanda: Wii U version _is_ fine. Only reason to buy Switch instead (as I see it) is if you care about handheld. The slightly better resolution on Switch in non-handheld mode does not sound like it's really worth it as it only causes similar frame rate issues.

sounds a bit like you're angry if you're asking for an apology. i think it's fine, at least by standards here (how many people always base their opinions on others' or some vague internet consensus?). tons of people insisted it's fine, mostly because they only have a wii u and/or feel negatively towards the switch.

That shortcut to uploading and downloading save files is gonna make save-scumming in Darkest Dungeon too easy. Also, I love the look of the Fishing Hamlet; definitely one of my favorite locales in Bloodborne.

Brad getting so full of praise for the upload download shortcut when it should just do it automatically like any modern cloud system should.

@brad should do a new games stream to counteract jeff's old games streams. just play the absolute newest games possible. someone should write a game during the show and send it to him. only the newest and freshest.

@upperdecker: don't forget we're going from Ryan and Dan, 2 incredibly charismatic guys that make you feel good to Brad, Jeff ( who is better bouncing off others ) and Rorie, nothing against them in terms of pure knowledge or entertainment value, but 3 people that work better with a funny man dynamic

Thanks for putting a show together with a skeleton crew on-site, guys! Was a fun, laid-back stream. I'm a little unconvinced by Boost Mode so far, but I suppose it can only really do so much.

@lonelyspacepanda: I found it weird on the podcast how Brad said "seems like the Wii U version is rough" but then referenced the Digital Foundry thing, which noted that both versions have issues. I think he did clarify that a few moments later, though - it has some performance issues on Wii U, but not notably more so than it does on Switch from everything I've been reading.

There are those of us who tire of forced wackiness and prefer to see the game played more normally.

@alistercat: I guess I'm just confused then because why is Brad so hot on the Switch version in this video if they suffer from the same issues? The question isn't whether both suffer from framerate drops in certain areas, but does it happen much worse and frequently on Wii U. Switch has been fine for me. I only noticed in opening area (happened twice) and a certain area of the Lost Woods where it's really bad all the time.
