Giant Bombcast Giant Bomb Game of the Year 2010: Paul Barnett's Top 10

"The bunker Hitler would have wanted" = Bombcast quote of the year, I think.

The XBL Indie Game on Paul's list: "Miner Dig Deep", not Deeper.  Great game and I completely agree, except my choice for XBL Indie Game of the year is "Hypership Out of Control".

Younger listeners will probably not enjoy this one very much, but it gives you a valuable insight in a game developers mind (and a business/marketing thinker - Sir Paul is clearly spending too much time with the corporate suits in his EA Empire ;) 
 
Especially listening towards the end, dissecting what is so great about the new Pac Man, gave you the opportunity to understand what is important - and often ridiculously hard - to achieve, as a game designer.  
 
And the very end of the podcast was simply hilarious.

I'm with Paul on Pac Man CE DX, the game is amazing.  I grew up a little late for Pac Man and never really got into the original's gameplay, but the tweaks they've done to the series have made me go from just appreciating Pac Man to really greatly enjoying it.

Paul Barnett, such a cool dude.

 Digital: A love story was really nice. I liked everything about it, I only wish there was more of it, loved just going through the discussions on the BBS boards. Also love me some Paul Barnett this was clearly the best way to present his top games of the years.

Paul Barnett is indeed a lunatic. However, I didn't know he was also illiterate. The list is called, "The Top 10 Games of 2010", not "Random Shit Associated With Games You Don't Like: 2010 Edition". Most of his list is valid, but the fact that he recognized iPad's Mahjong because it's emblematic of a new group of people is crazy. The same goes for Minecraft: good game or not, the "marketing" behind it does not qualify it as a "Top 10 Game of 2010". 
 
Did I go deaf, or did he also nominate Foursquare? Fucking crazy.

Quake on Xbox Live. At least this one actually involved a game with mining in it.  I like Paul Barnett and all, but what the fuck is so funny about the Chilean Miners? It's like making a joke about Paris Hilton. "

I didn't know about Giantbomb until Paul was in one of those E3 podcasts (in a hotel room). I was sold after that series of podcasts and Giantbomb is the only gaming website I visit these days. Listening to Paul on a podcast again is kind of a full circle for me. Is he awesome or what :D

Man, the guys are putting up a bunch of content! No wonder they looked so tired during that live broadcast.

This is a pretty interesting list, definitely worth a listen. I didn't really think this was a cop-out, if anything this was a great perspective.

This is my favorite top 10 of the year list, which isn't mine top 10 of the year list.

Even though more than half his list is total "Social Gaming Media" nonsense, listening to Paul Barnett is always a pleasure. Also, he gets super brownie points for that Leigh Alexander reference.

Hilarious stuff. When he mentioned Miner Dig Deep I remembered seeing in that QL last year and burst into laughter.

Paul Barnett is the man. 
 
The last bit about Giantbomb was on point. I love you guys.

They already did the update of Dig Dug, it was called Mr. Driller.  It was awesome, until they brought it to XBLA in an awful version.
