i'm mildly disappointed the box from Canada didn't contain a package of smoked salmon.  Maybe I should send the guys some smoked salmon.  I think I'll do that.  :D

Put some in a glass with vanilla ice cream and you get a treat called a Boston Cooler, Named after Boston blvd in Detroit

My girlfriend really likes it when I give her Boston Coolers. I made her a real good one on Valentine's.

1.) Poutine would be tough to preserve in a box for however long it takes them to open it.

2.) Poutine is not Canadian, it is from Québec and unfortunately receives a disproportionate amount of attention. Québec has much finer culinary delights to offer than that filthy heart-attack-in-a-cup.

For starters: http://www.bonjourquebec.com/qc-en/plaisirsgourmands0.html

And for a savory taste of the true panoply of Québec's culinary tradition: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuisine_qu%C3%A9b%C3%A9coise

Bon appétit!

I have a friend exactly like him, it is all in the delivery. The way he says everything is in just such a nonchalant way and often in a totally believable, but often sarcastic undertone, that he can say damn near anything and it's hilarious. Not to mention he knows EXACTLY what to say most of the time.

Disappointed the Canadian folks didn't send them Kinder Eggs. Would've loved to see them all open them and find random stupid shit inside.

@super2j: Not so much. True, there are certain games with only a minor 400mb download (still ludicrous). But I've had multiple nights where I put in a game to play it and the patch was so large (2gb or bigger), that I had to download it overnight and play the game the next day. I'm on a 12mbs internet connection.

@Construc: Holy shit, 2gbs??? thats huge and unacceptable. I have never seen any patch that large, maybe we just play different games but the only time i have seen anything like that is for when there are mandatory installs for some games. Other then that i have no idea what u have been playing that had that many changes.

Well if it's so sad quit trying to force us to be in your worthless country e.g. stop rigging votes on independence and controlling the media, also, stop using the financial system and immigration against us and we'll more than happy to leave.

While you clearly can't take a joke, you should really accept that that's never going to happen. Also, it's our country and really? You think the government is rigging votes? You sound like a crazy person.

Yah dude needs to chill, lol its funny cause even if u they do end up leaving at some point (probably never gonna happen) they would still need to be economically connected with Canada, they need a currency union at the very least. With the global economy being what it is, it is economic suicide for Quebec and Canada to not be somehow economically connected (for both sides).

So over-dramatic, Quebec can pretty much do whatever it wants in this current environment (from education to a host of local regulations + one of the biggest voting blocks in the country, ostensibly you guys gave Harper a Majority Government by voting for a bunch unproven NDP candidates); if you think you're oppress go talk to Mexicans living in US; or 99% of ethnic minorities living in the middle east.

It took Ireland 800 years, it took Greece 500 years, Armenia was occupied for most if its 3000 year history, Finland was under Swedish control for 700 years then Russian for a century. Italy was Austrian and wasn't unified until in 1871. The list goes on; you think it'll never happen? Wishful thinking on the part of a blind loyalist. They said the same thing to George Washington and Benjamin Franklin and guess what happened...?

Nope, it's your country, we never signed the constitution remember. We also don't recognize your queen and we don't want your unelected senate and over-powerful prime minister.

What kind of question is "really?" You seem to invoke some accepted status quo instead of explaining yourself. I guess all I can say to that is: "yes, really."

Here's one of the many sources that document how the 1995 Referendum was indeed rigged: http://lesintouchables.com/livre-606-Le-Referendum-vole.php

Ever wonder why there's so much controversy surrounding the Newfoundland Referendum of 1948?

Ever heard of gerrymandering? It's something loyalists use to ensure favorable election results.

It's strange how you started an argument yet cannot support your claims whilst I actually provide you with some substance, instead of just calling you crazy...

I see, economic union with a country who's currency is worth not much more than Canadian Tire money. Right, great idea. I guess having our own gold standard currency would be "suicide". Québec voting for the NDP highlights the insanity of the Canadian political system. That's right: Mexicans living in the U.S. not a small minority of Americans controlling everything south of the Rio Grand to the point where English is the dominant language of Mexico instead of Spanish. Hispanic minorities in the U.S. have much more control of their areas (like using Spanish as the de facto language) and have as political power than we do in our own homeland (could a politician in Southern California or New York afford to ignore hispanic voters?). Minorities in the Middle East? I assume you mean the Kurds? Indeed, the Kurds have suffered greatly and that's because they never lost their will to fight for their freedom unlike people in Québec. When the colony is quite, there's no need for overt brutality but every single time we stand up, they suspend civil liberties and send in the army. Just look at what happened at the G-20 summit in Toronto; that's the Canadian system: spend a billion dollars on security, give vague instructions to the police which turn out to be unconstitutional and watch'em go: over 1000 people arrested and maltreated in jail: ...the true North strong and free... as the song goes.

Education, like healthcare and a "host of local regulations" is a provincial prerogative; that means every province, not just Québec.

Just as an FYI for every non-Canadian, the reason why the cheezies said "bags/sacs" is because bags is English and sacs is French. Same word, different language. Sometimes the translations will go as far even if the word in French and English is basically the same thing...
