Basically what you are saying is that those other people should be hired because they not only have the qualifications, but they something other than white males. Which gives them an edge in your mind.

So now we are back to square one. We are now hiring people based off of gender/race, instead of their qualifications and experience.

There needs to be a balance where people (All people) need to be equally represented in the hiring process. When you go out and hire new people, you don't just look at what skin color, or gender you don't have a lot of and go from there. That is a terrible way to hire people.

Also, we have no idea of how much money is being exchanged in the hiring process. The time frame needed for doing this job (after hours work etc), or just general interest. What if through no fault of GB, they just didn't have anybody else that was interested? Are you still going to be disappointed? Are you still going blast them for possibly being discriminatory?

Without knowing the details of said hiring process, and without knowing the details of who they were actually talking to (and who turned down any offers), we will never know.

There is nothing wrong with being disappointed that the choice you wanted didn't get picked. I happen to be disappointed a lot in my life about a great deal many things. However, that doesn't give me the right to run around and blast other companies without any proof of said discrimination.

You should always ask questions, but most people here are not asking any questions. They are jumping straight to the end and making up their own events of what happened.

@kharhaz: All discussion about any disappointment with the site's lack of diversity, and those who are disappointed with the first group of disappointees, has moved over to this thread and Jeff's letter from the editor. Though both are currently locked, it would be appreciated if any further discussion moved to these places once/if they are opened again. It would also be a good time to read through these massive threads to see what discussion points have already been made/addressed/talked about.

I've been critical of the hire for 'diversity reasons' while thinking Dan and Jason seemed perfectly fine on a personal level, but that E3 swag story Dan told made me overlook his many positive qualities. SET HIM ON FIRE FOR HIS PAST SINS.
