Wow Jeff is really in total crotchety uninformed old man mode when it comes to the olympics.

I had it on at work every day and I enjoyed it a lot. It was great to see golf finally back in the olympics for the first time since 1904. (Yes I realize the irony in calling Jeff an old man and also being excited about watching golf on TV).

I think Zoku Shou might be even better than the first series. You should check it out. The music in it is especially great.

Although it's kinda understandable how you might have missed the second season; the two seasons are almost 8 years apart.

The "boss issue" in Deus Ex was some of the most overblown non-sense that was written about the year that game came out. Every boss room was loaded with the ammo needed to take out the boss you were fighting. I've got videos on youtube killing all of them in no time flat with no combat augs using only the items found in the rooms where you had to fight them.

Not only that but honestly, the whole "I want to talk them down" thing is a bit silly IMO. It's something I've found troubling in rpgs for ages. Seems like more often than not you're just rewarding bad behavior. Hey, steal from whoever you want and kill whoever you want to kill, you've got nothing to worry about from me or the citizens of this world cause I happen to be a smooth talker. Cause that makes sense.

There are people in the world that can't be talked off the ledge. I don't think people who had no problem whatsoever killing a mess of civilians in the opening of the game are going to pay much mind to anyone's eloquent dialogue and are instead going to fight to the death. That they're smart enough to funnel the PC into a location where they've got no option to run should be looked at as a good thing.

Who gives a shit about Samurai Shodown? Seriously, even Jeff doesn't care unless it's the first or second one in a series with 6 2D and 3 3D games. According to wikipedia because I sure as fuck didn't keep up.

Oh yeah, and Attack on Titan is overrated. I'm gonna sound like a hipster here, but every big popular anime series out there isn't that great, especially for people who want to get into anime. I love Kill La Kill and Gurren Lagann, but those are not good shows to get into anime. Watch Kaiba instead. Or Redline. Or Paranoia Agent.

I thought the recommendation for GTA V seemed a bit weird to give to someone whose just spent 11 years of their live surrounded by criminals. While its a technical marvel of a game, the subject material might not be great.

Other than that, I'm surprised they didn't just reel off previous game of the year winners.

Attack on Titan sounds like exactly the kind of weird, nonsensical, disgusting anime premise I could really get behind. I too will take up the fight against giant naked asexual men.

Edit: Yeah, after putting in a couple hours with this game I concur that it's definitely the best kind of dumb.

For people who care about DOTA, UPF had a lot of content. An extensive collection of beautifully drawn and animated stuff was displayed. Chat melted a little.

I've long since grown tired of anime's more repetitive clichés - the weird faces, prolonged battle scenes, overused character archetypes - but I've been watching Polar Bear Cafe with my girlfriend and it's not half bad. It's pretty much an Anime About Nothing™. A polar bear, panda bear, grizzly bear, and penguin do pretty mundane things like learn to drive, play baseball, and organize picnics. I first heard about it from the Bombcast back when Crunchyroll advertised on the show (UNLIMITED ANIME) but I'm just now getting into it.

Everything else is bad.

It took me about half the conversation to realise they weren't talking about Xbox cameras during the "360 camera" discussion. Was really confused as to why they were really expensive and something they would want to get a few of!

Try scoping out One Punch Man, it feels like anime done in Japan, by Japanese with a huge western sense of humour and influence. There's a particular scene where a character goes into typical anime bullshit exposition and the protagonist suddenly explodes and just says "KEEP IT SHORT AND SIMPLE" effectively taking the piss out of that kind of long whiny stuff. It's very fun

One day I hope I might watch a live bombcast.

comcast ondemand had it broken down by athlete, event, etc. basically any metric you wanted to search for they had it broken into that... I didn't watch a second of it but.. it was crazy how well it was presented. Guess people who aren't forced to have comcast aren't aware but.. shocked at how many people with comcast complained and didn't realized the ondemand stuff.

@abrasion: Due to rewatching One Punch Man, Dubbed this time, I really appriciate how self aware the anime is of the super hero genre, and how even if the hero is visually plain and ordinary, he can have a great character design especially in the way you can relate to Saitama.
