Y'all should watch some Worlds next month, it's really fun and you'd see a lot of the stuff you guys think is true about LoL is either outdated or misinformed. Last year's Worlds was dominated by multiple champions being played off-role like Ekko (assassin midlaner played as a top lane tank), and Miss Fortune (AD carry/marksman being played as a support). There are a ton of champions that are being flexed between multiple lanes right now, and there are a lot of teams playing tanks and AD carries in the midlane (which has been for mages and assassins since the Eurolane was adopted by everyone). Also most of the veteran players in LoL came out of WC3 Dota, WoW PvP and HoN, so yeah, there are a lot of people who started with Dota and swapped to LoL!

I was listening to the podcast version and had to immediately come here after hearing Ben exclaim "what the fuck!" to the scorpion email. That had me laughing to almost tears

I enjoy hearing people who are passionate about Dota talk about it and the community/ethos that surrounds it. Tends to give me a stark glimpse into what passionate gamers sound like to non-gamers.

I enjoy the gameplay of League (there's a lot about DotA that could be easily streamlined without much impact) - but man, I do not have time to grind out/buy heroes in order to experiment or fill in critical roles in a team. DotA in that aspect is more accessible not punishing experimentation

Kinda shocked to hear Ben say something positive about League. Usually Dota players just shit on it. Like Brad immediately after.

Also Jeff is TOTALLY RIGHT Aerosmith sucks.

I wish I cared about anything as much as some people do about DOTA, I don't get it, but good for them for being passionate.

Guns n' Roses was good, at least from appetite of through Use Your llusion(s). Still won't forgive them for anything after that...especially that crappy Misfits cover.

The "excess" mentioned here actually turned out some incredible songs. If you can't at least appreciate Estranged, I'm not sure what to tell you.

I grew up on ska-punk, and while I recognize how bad and dumb a lot of those bands were (not many survived to stay on my ipod over the last 20 years), I still have a soft spot for the sound, and think I could have done a lot worse.

Less Than Jake got me through high school. Like, that Hello Rockview album, it was my life. Around 2003 they kinda just... like.. couldn't write a good song anymore, so some reason.

For as much shit Reel Big Fish get for being the poster boy for clownshoes ska, their first four albums were cynical as all hell. Given the climate today, it just doesn't work (and they eventually lost their edge and became "just another jokey ska band" anyways), but as a depressed teen in the late 90's, upbeat music + really mean lyrics was good fun.

Streetlight Manifesto is still great because they have a lot of folk influences, and have a really cool noir/introspective lyrical style. They approach things so differently, that it almost feels unfair to call them a ska-pank band.

Yo, Lagwagon got GOOD in the last 20 years. Some shitty things happened to the singer, forcing him to grow up fast, and it really improved his songwriting. His side project, Bad Astronaut, is an overlooked gem.

Goldfinger and NOFX have always been frat bro crap. The Decline is really good though.

I'm firmly in the camp that using gamertags for esports is dumb. As much as I dislike Dora, I'm not opposed to esports as a concept, but I find myself rolling my eyes whenever I hear the names of the players. It makes it pretty much impossible for me to take seriously.
