I love how serious Jeff and Vinny get playing Windjammers. Fuck GTA Online...the Neo Geo is where it's at!

Oh god, the suicide bit had me laughing so hard, especially with Jeffs' comment.

Pretty great stream/video of sort of GTA, but mostly Windjammers.

Dat bandana. This game makes me want that NeoGeo with the composites that plays both console and arcade carts. Steve Lin hooked Jeff up with it. What is it called?

If I recall it was around USD$400?

I really want to play Windjammers on arcade sticks.....

This is all thanks to the classic console section at PAXAUS, played KOF98 on a real NeoGeo for the first time with a fellow duder. There is something to be said forauthentic Clark, and I have wanted the real thing at home ever since.

Steve Lin's collection must be insane. Future Giant Bomb feature?

Even more future Giant Bomb feature: work out how to capture from 4-player Warlords and then rig the cocktail table with cameras at the players and spectators. Arcade cabinet studios....Patent pending.

PER SO NA

I'm over an hour and a half into this and I don't remember hearing one Persona reference yet so I have no idea why you posted that but I still got a lot of enjoyment out of it so thank you.

Its the part where Vinny kills himself the first time, and Jeff says that the evoker didn't work like he thought it would.

Ohhhh yeahhh. I'm not sure if I just didn't remember it or it hadn't come up yet. It's mostly loading screens and Windjammers in the first hour and a half.

GTA Online is still busted for me. The Lesson here is to only play WindJammers for the rest of your life to avoid disappointment.

GTA Online might be one of the more busted launches I've seen in a while. Great show regardless, though.

Yeah, it's pretty crazy. They had more problems than any MMO I've (seen) played on the first day. The longer it's been since I finished GTAV, the more I question whether or not that game was so great. I remember really enjoying it while I was playing it, but I also remember how poor some of that gameplay implementation was. I think it was at 38% completion I decided not to do any more side activities except for Strangers and Freaks, because all that stuff was just uninteresting busy work.

This online hassle has me remembering the bad stuff more than the good. I kind of think that I liked GTAV so much because of the setting and presentation, not so much the gameplay. I don't think I'll enjoy it online that much.

Oh, I don't know, we've had plenty of busted launches in the past couple of years. GTA had the advantage that only the online component was affected when their servers were overloaded, which is what you'd think should happen with a primarily single player game, unlike, say, Diablo III and SimCity which were entirely unplayable for everybody in the first few weeks even if you just wanted to play alone.

I didn't try FFXIVRR on it's relaunch, but given the fact that copies were taken off store shelves because it was so busted, I'd wager it was more busted than this.

Well, in all fairness, I think there has been some reports of single player save corruption, so there's that.

I have this stream to thank for the inspiration of getting Windjammers on my laptop to play with friends at work. We were actually warned we were being too loud because of how intense the back and forth volleys would get, it's a great 2 player game. I can't even beat the first stage of the computer though, may have to lower the level from 4.

All it took was three years for GB to will Windjammers into existence. What a time to be alive.

Almost 6 years later and it's safe to say GTA Online works slightly better now.

I'm watching this video as I play the Windjammers 2 beta. This video is officially historical in nature, as Windjammers 2 would not have happened if the GTA Online servers worked at launch. Vinny introducing the game to Jeff, explaining the controls. Them immediately realizing they need to turn the round timer off. It's all history. It's really wild to see that the original arcade's "tutorial" was copied exactly for the Windjammers 2 tutorial.

It's awe inspiring.
