I Love Mondays - 08/20/2012

Well, they butchered the decription of Mann Up Mode (the money thing for Mann vs Machine for TF2). The harder difficulties can be played for free, but you can't get the extra special drops (that are completely cosmetic) unless you get a ticket for $0.99 to play on Mann Up Mode (which isn't used unless you win the map, meaning one ticket = one end of map drop).

Not at all. The original versions were fantastic and provided a lot of useful info in just a few minutes. I understand why some people like this "behind-the-scenes" version better, but I feel like we see enough of that with weekly mailbags and such. Sometimes a little bit of polish is nice for a professional website.

+1 on the Dark Souls PC. Its supposed to have live multiplayer matchmaking from day 1. Would have been funny to grief people on TNT with a SL 1 character.

Was kinda hoping this video in the office version of ILM was a temporary thing as about 80% is inaudible and after the segment, i have very little idea of what's happening this week. Please bring back a "proper" video segment so it's easier to understand what the line-up is. Cheers :)

No, you are not. I don't mind that the content for these videos exist, but I just wish they were another series; most of these are just background noise with some comment here or there about whats new (specially noticeable in the last weeks where the answer often was "not much").

A summarized version, or the same "information" covered in the description would work the same way...

It is kind of annoying to have them discussing doing additional content on the PC releases of two games they have already covered extensively, yet The Last Story, which is probably the last major release for the Wii, is completely ignored.

I've heard so many mixed things about it, I'm really not sure what to believe.

But I don't know if I really want GB to cover The Last Story. I'd like a quicklook, but at the same time, they're not going to do it justice. The modern JRPG is just not the kind of game they're interested in (with some obvious exceptions), and it's hard to get a sense of a JRPG in just a half-hour-ish of time. They didn't touch Tales of Graces either, and I wouldn't really expect them to ever do so.

Yeah, not surprising. The same thing happened with Xenoblade Chronicles; no one was going to do anything with it until Patrick eventually did a 20-minute QL a week later. If it weren't for him, it probably would've never been covered.

It sucks if you care about that sort of thing, but I've been used to it since the start. GB is not my go-to place for JRPG coverage.
