I think people cut ME2 far too much slack. Since it's that series at the widest point where they could just do whatever without having to explain or make sense of anything. All the advantages, none of the responsibilities. In that sense ME2 screwed over what would come after it.

Not that I excuse ME3 for all its shortcomings of course. There is plenty wrong with that game outside of the ending.

Best way to get this in to MP3 format? Going on an airport run and could use something giantbomb to listen to

There's definitely misrepresentation in movies. The trailer analogy Jeff uses is actually not very good. Sometimes trailers contain scenes are clips that are cut from the film.

There was definitely 1 or 2 Bombcasts where they showed images or video to accompany what was being discussed. I liked it, but they didn't continue doing it.

@amyggen: I'm positive I didn't make that up! It may have just been Jason throwing up an image on an internet browser to display what the guys were talking about. It may have only happened for one episode though.

I still don't get this fussing over the term "pro" on the PS4 Pro because it's not true "professional" grade. I don't recall this ever being an issue when Xbox 360 launched with a "Pro" version where the only added benefit was a hard drive.

That comment about developers not knowing how good their game is applies to all kinds of long-form creative works. Novelists, film-makers, bands all say the same things, I had it with just an undergrad dissertation. Really easy to lose all perspective once you spend too long devoting most of your energy to a single work.

Something to be said for the quick and lean way GB turns out their stuff in that way - even though man, I'd love to see Jeff make some kind of documentary type videos about game history now and again. Very few people with his knowledge, experience and contacts left in the games media.

"Pro" is just a shit marketing trend that has resurfaced. You see it in iPad "Pro" and judging by rumors the iPhone could very well see it's own "Pro" line. It should be called out more often for what it is, which is silly marketing.

I love how happy Jeff is with being married and how easily he shared that personal side of him. So happy for Jeff and his wife.

@hassun: I've been thinking about it recently and wondered if I liked 2 a lot simply for the characters. Not that I didn't like the plot or anything but the crew was the best part. But I'm also fine with how choice was reflected in the games. It was different enough for me and I never really put that much stock in it as long as the choice was reflected in some way.

But I think I'll always be a pretty big Mass Effect fan. I love the universe, the games had some of my favourite moments in any video game and I still really like 3 even with its problems.

I'm excited for ME: Andromeda but i understand where Jeff is coming from. For the record, there is ONE new alien race seen in that cinematic trailer. Sounds like they talked about the new enemy race(The Kett) in Game Informer.

Contract Danny O'Dwyer to do a monthly collaboration. He does the long form, behind the scenes video with noclip. Then, he leads a round table discussion with the Giant Bomb crew to discuss the piece/topic/company in his video to add further background and perspective to the documentary.

Thanks for doing another one of these, I love this show and it's one of my favorite bonuses as a premium member. Love how you continue to improve the site and it's great hearing all your insight behind video production and games coverage.

Thanks for taking my question! I'm kind of in the same boat on Andromeda, but I'm not sure what to expect. Save for a few key individuals, It seems like it's made by an entirely different group of people(I forget what the ME3 multiplayer studio is actually called) and could go either way. But I'm not stoked on an Inquisition-style game unless both the story is much better and the moment to moment gameplay is much better as well.

So that's gotta be Sera, right? I showed her the door first time through, and that's the only Bioware party member I ever did that to.
