How is this not just JC3 again? Is there built in multiplayer or are they leaving that to the modders?

This series always seemed soulless to me. Thinking about it, it's Saints Row without the Saints Row.

Dan never using the wingsuit is maddening. I use the parachute mostly to turn around quicky while 90% of the time it is wingsuit city.

It's a sandbox game, half the fun of those is messing around with NPCs. Also: Your avatar does not match your comments content ;)

@onkel: It basically is JC3, just done in a new engine and on a new JC2 style map with a modded grappling hook. And no multiplayer, maybe on pc again if modders get it going, again.....

All I want from a Just Cause game is character creation and seamless online multiplayer, and most importantly, no more Rico! Why do the devs think people like playing as this generic 1990's stereotypically voiced character?

I've played the first 3 games (finished 2/3), I have absolutely no idea why I did other then maybe there was nothing else to play at the time. Everything about this series is soulless and I can't remember anything about any of these games the second the credits rolled. The announcement of this game was shocking after 3.

This looks great, but so did Just Cause 3...and 2. These games have amazing playful tools and mechanics to it, but nothing clever or fun to do with it. There just sand boxes and that ultimately makes me not want to get this. I had my fill with JC3, if this is just more of the same then I'm not missing anything at all by skipping on this sandbox complete the entire map/liberate the people simulator.

Is Dan using an OP rifle or are the chaos objects much easier to destroy this time around? He's only firing a few shots before those things explode.

Yeah, that rifle is pretty OP. It's pretty much the only gun I use besides the quad RPG.

this should just be a Gary Mods game that is much cheaper.

I love how every vehicle can take untold amounts of damage as long as you're driving them, but the moment you leave they all turn into bombs.

For whatever it's worth, I feel this makes up for the Metro Redux QL. Keep playing Dan, this game is real dumb and a lot of fun.

This ballon thing, reminds me of an episode of Gotham, where a person killed people by attatching ballons to them so they were forced up in the air, untill the ballon burst and they fell down and died, pretty evil way to kill people, and their scream of horror, made the whole thing so evil.

Full price again for an iterative in-house attempt to capture the fun of the PC cheat-trainer-table for JC:2 that *ahem*boosted the sales of the game to the point that this game exists two games later and worse..

Man, the crazy amounts of motion blur mixed with what seems like a really really low rendering resolution on the PS4 Pro version is triggering my motion sickness something awful. Couldn't make it through this video, I can't believe they shipped a game in 2018 looking like that.

Because that's EXACTLY what people like about this game.

Visually, this game just looks and feels so bizarre.

@vicious17: that's....not true. no one cares about the characters or narrative elements. it's a sandbox fuck-around game, and everything in the game (in theory) is in service of making that more involved and more wild. from what I've played of the first three games, Rico is very boilerplate and vaguely developed.

anyway, like all of these games, it looks super fun to mess around. but not for $60.

also there was totally a tornado in the world before they fast traveled to the mission, classic QL unawareness.

This about sums up my Just Cause experience. Fuck around with the physics nonsense for a while, attempt to do a mission, get bored and quit the game. Especially since the awesome physics/grapple mechanics don't compensate for or complement the mission design in most cases.

I side with abby, that grappling hook looks painnnnnfulllll. Could rico just use some sort of adhesive on people? That hook just shot into that ladies abdomen, that has to be a warcrime.

Seems like 4 is identical to 3, I liked getting 3 on sale with all DLC for like 10 bucks 2 years later, will probably do the same here. They still haven't iterated on JC2 in an interesting way which is a bummer.

I am in the same boat. Easily the lamest protagonist among a list of really bad video game protagonists. Literally anyone could be shoehorned into the game so why not let the players choose who? Probably rhetorical anyway since the odds of another Just Cause game are pretty low.
