This was genuinely one of the most exciting bits of content I've ever watched on Giant Bomb. Who needs Apollo 13 when we've got a nerve-racking descent into Kerbin without engines? Congratulations to Haldrin on his successful voyage.

@austin_walker AUSTIN!!! Congrats on putting science together and discovering aerobraking and atmospheric drag!! For someone as not into science as you are (I mean it has been probably twenty years since you took a real science course and Witness being all let science save us annoyed you) that was well done. As usual you are the brains of the outfit!

@afroofdoom: They used aerobraking! I'm actually way surprised they thought of it on their own. Its a great way to save on fuel, if it does take a little while longer to slow down and descend. NASA used it on the Magellan mission in the 90s.

Oh man...if you thought getting to the Mun was going to take forever, watching them learn how to do orbital rendezvous and docking is going to be AWESOME!

HOLY SHIT, SCOTT MANLEY!!!

That look on my face when they eject their engine and all their fuel when they were nowhere close to landing. Even if they had just used ~10 more DeltaV at apoapsis they would have cut this episode's length by an hour and would have been totally safe.

Man, that preview is pretty hype. I imagine Drew will enjoy this a lot more than MGS.

I'm only 1:16 in, but I'm so proud of them for figuring out that they can aerobrake on their own. This is what I love to see when I see people play KSP without guides.

Good stuff. That steep cliff on the Mun that you landed on the literal edge of was both hilarious and terrifying. When they were already getting to the atmosphere part and there was an hour and change left in the video, I was worried they were going to fail again. But nope, it just took a long-ass time. I'm not familiar with Scott Manley myself, only heard about him from comments in the previous episodes. Regardless, I am hyped to watch the next episode. Drew sure can cut a promo.

I thought it was kind of cute how Alex and Austin didn't seem to realize that the ablator health meter or whatever you want to call it was on the screen in the top right the whole time. Not until Vinny pointed it out.
