This is such a good idea. It's like dark souls without the fighting, and with the ability the write full sentences.

This thing is very sweet and good. I've put a few hours into it since UPF and it's just nice throwing good vibes / potentially bad advice out there out there.

is this a strand game?

I like Kind Words a lot, but I spend most of my time just looking through requests. I don't reply to requests that deal with issues I don't have personal experience with.
Also, I put out my own request and finally managed to cry for the first time in ten years while reading the responses.

Much needed kind words

Modern life is not rough. As a matter of fact, we've never had it better, and it is rough because things are so easy now that there's no purpose to people's lives, no struggle to survive. In searching for purpose, people give themselves to extreme causes on both sides to feel like their lives have meaning and that they're fighting for something, since they don't have to fight to survive.

I would watch an infrequent series of Brad and Jan dispensing positive vibes.

what a nice thing

I've been going through a really hard time the past few weeks, and I got this when Brad showed it off on UPF a week ago. It has been a really therapeutic experience and it has helped me out tons.

I have yet to experience any trolling or negativity like you usually expect on these kinds of anonymous messaging things. It's an absolutely wonderful "game".

@worlddude: Nope, it's just facts. Things literally have never been better or easier. Nice use of "privilege", I can probably tell what angle you're coming at this from. Food is abundant, water is abundant, technology is incredible, jobs are plentiful. There's no struggle to survive, and by that I mean, there are others in different parts of the world (with less 'privilege' let's say) where people don't have time to worry about how they hate their job or whether or not they're depressed because they literally have to put their all into growing food to eat. There's no fight to survive, and there's no purpose, and seeking purpose, people give themselves to things and ideas others don't have the luxury of worrying about.

I've been "playing" this for about 30 minutes each day. It's such a special thing.

I don't know what you've been going through, but I've been through some very tough times in my life. Things do get better. Just hang in there and take it one day at a time! You are a treasure, and not just in this community.

I've been trying to spend some time on this game at least a little bit each day. It's a little bubble of positivity that I absolutely love sharing with strangers. I always try and give a thought out response with the maximum number of lines to someone who sends a request, and generally the responses to the few requests I've made have been thoughtful and kind as well. I wish it was a bit more accessible to people (like on phones mentioned in the video) so I'd have an easier time recommending it to those who I think would really appreciate it.

Anyway great look at it guys, I think you captured the essence of what the experience is like. And a big thank you to Brad especially for introducing this to me via UPF, it's been a huge positive influence on my life in such a short time.

It's amazing how even now, people are still coming up with fantastic ideas to incorporate into gaming and make them such a wonderful experience, especially in this case for the people who need good vibes and reassurance.

I bought this right after UPF and have played it every day since. It has seriously changed me.

The comfort of knowing your problems aren't unique. That it can make a positive difference in not just your life, but a stranger's as well.

I'm glad Brad showcased this on UPF. I've spent some time here every day and while there's a balance of heavy and everyday problems in requests I do feel like it does its job of supporting people and letting them vent. Thank you for showing this guys, and thanks for everything you do.

Hopefully you'll realize one day that there's far, FAR more purpose to life than "struggling to hunt your own food".

EDIT: On topic, this game seems rad, and I always liked how Brad's tastes in games range from "Yaaarrgh this game is super tough and frustrating" (Breaking Brad) to "Hey, this game is chill, mellow and unique".

(And Jan's always a chill fellow!)

Couldn't this straight up be made into an interactive desktop background? I know you can do quite some cool interactive background stuff with Rain meter. I don't know, it just feels like we should be able to do so much more cool stuff with our desktop backgrounds compared to windows 95, and this game should be not too taxing.

I'm sorry friend, but many many many people live extremely hard lives to this very day. Children and adults alike die of hunger and preventable, treatable illness. People die of senseless murder. People die while struggling to survive.

I love that this game exists, but I am unable to use it, because I'm too much of a nihilist and misanthrope.

It's a fine choice for bg tunes.
