Sometimes it feels like Brad has it out for Abby. When Brad saw Abby's house sever streams ago, his reaction was "it's ok".

@lurifaksen:

1.Download the Optifine version that matches the minecraft version you're playing. (If its for 1.16.1 it'll be under preview versions). Then run the executable. In your .minecraft folder a new folder called "shaderpacks" will be created.

2.Then find a shader pack you want, they're using Seus Renewed I believe (I usually use Sildurs Vibrant Shaders) Put the .zip shader folder you downloaded in the "shaderpacks" folder that is now in your .minecraft folder.

3.Then when you start Minecraft, click the arrow next to the play button, select the Optifine profile and play.

4.Finally, once your running minecraft with the Optifine profile, you go to the in game options> video-settings> shaders then select the shaders you want to use.

//if you don't know how to get to the .minecraft folder, go in-game

options>video-settings>shaders> shaders folder

and that pops open the folder out of the game

//if this doesn't help, then google or youtube "install optifine and shaders" and that should bring up dozens of guides probably

Man they made this game look real pretty.

@janman what graphics card are you using? This looked super smooth and, if I remember right, you're not playing on some beefy gaming rig. I'm on a 5 year-old card and I'm curious if I could make this work.

@ragsdr I didn't really get that impression. I think Brad just has a dry sense of humor and I'm sure Abby gets that. Actually, an Abby x Brad series or feature has some real potential if they found the right game. I'm also very jealous of the sweatshirt in your profile pic.

I am new to Minecraft, but seeing Jan's version running I decided to see about modding the graphics up a notch. I am using a few years old 1060 card. I followed some guides on YouTube and got it looking pretty sweet, though.

I just need to find a good UI mod next to complete my limited upgrade.

Jan, maybe you can make an automatic chicken cooker! There are dispenser based ones and really simple lava-based ones (those look cooler IMO). If you cover it in glass, you can even see them. But anyway, it'd be a small project to do to help you guys make arrows, get food. Or, might be cool to get some Strider mounts (new 1.16 mob) and explore the nether lava lakes haha.

You're in that middle ground where the basic tasks are kind of satisfied, but you guys don't have enough experience to know what to build. I'd maybe suggest doing another big expedition to try to find new biomes or do a big terraforming project - cover part of your nether in all sand or ice. Cover one of Vinny's mountains in lava. Something silly that isn't necessarily super creative, but that you can see steady progress on.

Did I miss a stream where Jan finished his house/the water elevator up to the bridge? Theres a lot of stuff i'm not recognising. Maybe they do stuff off stream now? I might have missed that being mentioned in a bombcast.

Either way, loving these streams still! Those shaders are something else. And seeing as it feels like those against the convenience mods/settings are more vocal, I just wanna put it out there that I am in full support of whatever makes the game more fun for y'all!

P.S: I would be extremely into some chill solo streams if any of you are in the mood to play in-between the scheduled Friday shows, even if its just resource gathering or whatever.

@janman Hey I’m going to leave a bunch of advice here because you’re most likely to pass it on to the others.

1 - The nether is pretty easy if you roll in with a full set of armor (1 piece being gold to keep the piglins away), a shield, and an enchanted diamond sword.

2 - The green forest biome in the nether is the one with the endermen and that’s all that spawns in that forest, happy hunting.

3 - Stop making bread with the wheat and breed cows, if you keep breeding all of your cows whenever you can you should have hundreds in no time. The cooked cow meat restores 4 health bars and you also get leather you can use on books and frames. You won’t have any more food problems don’t kill any until the numbers are high. You can batch cook the food in a furnace instead of the fire.

4 - The easiest way to find diamonds is to start a branch mine below Y=16. Start with a main tunnel and then make tunnels leading off of it that are 1 block wide by 2 tall. Dig these tunnels 2 blocks apart for maximum coverage. You should stock up on diamonds pretty quickly this way.

5 - If you get an infinity enchantment on a bow you only need 1 arrow in your inventory and you have endless arrows. Aim for an infinity enchant instead of lots of arrows.
