This raytracing looks way better than anything in Control, mostly because of how noticeable it is. Being set in a city full of massive glass skyscrapers makes it really, really easy to see how much raytracing can serve to sell the physicality of the world. It even goes a super-long way to hide the copy-and-paste sad rooms that make up the entirety of the inside of every window.

Damn this looks good. Except for Peter. Peter looks like he's the same age as Miles. What were they thinking

@the_nubster: it's a much better use case, but the actual quality of the reflections is far lower (and that is to be expected for AMD's first go at it)

Haven't played this yet, but I dove back into the original which I never finished for some reason. I forgot how good it is. The swinging and combat are both great fun. I also really like the wholesome, feel-good nature. Peter Parker and co. are just so darn good-hearted. It's a breath of fresh air - a nice reprieve from the real-life grimdark that is 2020.

The end third of this quick look... I wasn't expecting Spiderman 64. 😏

@doncabesa: The quality is lower, certainly. Seeing the whole city reflected as you go swinging by, or watching it reflect as you sprint up a building, is much better than like some really nice-looking coffee pots and tiny framed pictures and translucent windows in Control. For as much of a showcase as Control was, "really big skyscraper" is a way better demo for the tech than brutalist office building is.

@bezerker285: calling out spoilers is more of a spoiler than the spoiler itself. Don't bring attention to it and most people won't even notice.

As someone that has ordered a Series X mostly because it was actually easier to get that than a PS5 I do wish the Series X had something like this game to showcase some of the new tech goodies. I'm somewhat excited to play some games I already own and see the improvements in loading and framerate but it's weird to buy a new console and literally have no game that shows off it's power.

All that said this looks fun enough. A whole lot of clipping going around even when just standing on slanted surfaces and whatnot but overall seems like a really fun package.

Of course but it's kind of like getting a new bike for your birthday and then it rains for the next 10 months you know.

This game might be a little too young and hip for me.

As someone who doesn't have a 4K tv yet, I'm bummed you can't get ray tracing and 60 fps at 1080p. :(
