The missed twinkle is in Strenuus, to the left of planet Xawin. You almost put the cursor over it.

I doubt it's a big deal, I just played through this game a good ten times and tried to do every little thing.

You guys should do one last big run through of the Citadel before you do Virmire. You've barely gone there and there are a ton of quests there that you've missed. I know you aren't doing a 100% run, but some of the best stuff in the game is on the Citadel. Also, don't use fast travel on the Citadel, you miss a bunch of stuff that you'd find from just running around.

Don't bother with the other DLC, it's a combat simulator in a game with terrible combat. It has no story worth speaking of, nothing from it imports into ME2 or 3 and Bioware/EA apparetnly have a low enough opinion of it that they didn't even bother porting it when they finally released ME1 on PS3.

Pinnacle Station is garbage and I regret paying for it.

Well, between ignoring the weapons and armor his team member had for the first seven hours and then giving them good stuff...I think Alex is better off accidentally giving them good stuff.

Moreover, giving Garrus a good sniper rifle (just as an example) is somewhat thwarted if Alex never never moves his team to cover or flanking positions throughout the battles. As it stand, Alex is winning most of the fights...so meh, its fine.

I forgot to do the character quests like Dr Saleon so I was glad to see this, looking forward to seeing Wrex's armour next time around.

just FYI in case you didn't know, you can talk garrus down and still have to shoot Dr. saleon. Best of both worlds... if you can call it that.

So I looked up what "Skipper" means and apparently it's kind of a nautical term meaning captain or master of a vessel.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/skipper

I honestly thought it sounded a bit belittling or insulting when Ashley said it but I guess it's an actual term used for denoting a commanders presence or something along those lines.

Shame Garrus's mission ended that way. Although given how many dead hostages there are back on that asteroid, Shep Shep would've been a bit of a hypocrite to suddenly choose the Paragon option...

Virmire basically triggers the endgame, so I would do everything you want to do before leaving on that mission.

I know i never beat ME1, but every time I think that they've surpassed the moment where i quit, I start to recognize scenes and characters... I think I must have mainlined as much of the main quest as I could.

I would reccomend finishing “Citadel: The Fan” because it has some good continuity into 2 and 3 for comedy.

@alex You do you man, but you might want to consider avoiding the default "middle option" on the dialogue wheel. Not only do you miss out on paragon/renegade points by avoiding a more decisive opinion, you also end up getting the weird, empty feeling, mission conclusions like with the Garrus side-quest!

After how effectively Alex got through what for me was the hardest fight in the game last week, people's gameplay complaints really start to lose meaning.

The first time I played ME I got caught up in the "RACE AGAINST TIME" aspect of it and never felt I had the storyline time to do the side quests (to me one of the weaker parts of the writing of ME1). Then after playing ME2 and seeing how that game was build around the companion quests I eventually went back to ME1 and boy howdy those were a comparative big let down. In general the ME side content (tat least the parts that aren't on the Citadel) is aggressively skippable.

@veotax: Apparently, the source code to Pinnacle Station was corrupted, and that is why it wasn't released for PS3. So the 360 and PC versions will probably be the only versions ever to be released, even if they make a trilogy version for XONE/PS4.

I get that Alex and Vinny want to keep things moving and leave a few small mysteries for viewers to discover on their own, but I don't think spending some time in the menus hurts the pacing. RPGs are about equipment and reading quest text as well as combat and exploration. Also, I promise I'll never scream at you for finishing a side quest, Alex, even if it means backtracking.

Hot tip Alex, don't bother with Pinnacle Station. It was a garbage DLC put out right before the release of ME2 and all it is is just a series of dumb combat challenge crap set to a time limit. It has no real storyline and doesn't play into any other aspect of the whole trilogy. No idea what the hell Bioware was thinking putting it out in such close proximity to the ME2 release...I guess to hype people up for it or something? Except it was really bad and just pissed people off.

@elliotcm: I was going to suggest that Alex experience the mini games in 2 for like, 3 episodes, then install the No Minigames mod from Nexus. IMHO, you don't need to play those very much after you experience them. They're not compelling, and scanning is THE WORST.

During my first playthrough of ME2, I used a single sheet of notebook paper to list all of the best mining spots I found, resulting in the highest yields. Following just that (relatively short) list of planets and the incidentals earned during missions, I had enough materials to buy every single upgrade on my subsequent playthroughs, ignoring all unnecessary scanning. I can probably dig up and share a pic of that sheet if anyone's interested. It's never worth scanning a planet with lower than "High" resources, and I think that's one of the tedious things people got sick of.

@nsmike: mm, not a bad idea. I was playing on the xbox at the time so that wasn't an option, and I only put up with it because I was trapped in a freezing house with literally nothing better to do.

Call me crazy, but the galaxy map music always reminded me of the Subway sex scene in Risky Business.

Google "Tangerine Dream Love On a Real Train." You'll see what I mean.
