The rich / good / medium / poor / depleted thing isn't to mark how bountiful the single resource points are, just how many there are still left. You can be at poor and find a single one that is huge.

Zaeed never gets into a real cutscene conversation with you, all his dialogue is like what you saw in these episodes, I'd say ignoring his monologues is the akin to not speaking to other crewmates.

Also, get a drink from the lower level of Afterlife for a fun side quest.

@vinny@alex The reason you can ask your team for different research stuff is because most of them have a unique upgrade to the ship they can make. You're... gonna want those if you want everything to go well.

The mod that makes all planets give max resources wherever you place a probe is honestly one of my favorites to add, especially after watching this episode!

@alex, FYI. I think the way the ship upgrades work is when you ask a crew member if they have any upgrades to the ship, it will add things to that list. So you only need to ask them once. From there you can just use the terminal in Mordin's lab. It's presented kinda confusingly

The Crash Site DLC? It's tonally strong with ME2, it seems necessary, but I would take a lifetime of Mako missions instead of ever having to remember ME2's "press x to pay respects".

@vinny@alex Remember you guys can talk with Joker on the ship in-between missions as well, he's almost a full squad mate this time around!

Also If you find any "upgrades" you can purchase with money, youare safe to just do so. They fall under the same category as the upgrades you receive on the ship by spending Platinum, EZO, and what not. You don't need to equip 'em (unless you're buying a weapon, etc.)

There is never actual conversation between Shep and the two DLC characters (Zaeed + 1 other). They just get a room on the ship and will talk at you like that.

Can't speculate why obvs but I'm sure it would have been a ton of work to make them fully interactable at all points in the story

Make sure to investigate with every member of your team to unlock all possible upgrades. There are a few you have missed so far.

Really hoping vinny remembers to tell alex you need to feed your fish after literally every mission/side quest or they die. Unless you flirt with Kelly enough to get her to feed your fish.

Damn, ya'll remember that GOTY where they were deciding best new character and the discussion surrounding Mordin and the genophage? That was freaking great. Also Francis York Morgan was robbed.

I would probably do Zaeed's mission sooner rather than later, it's a fairly quick but interesting mission and there's a tough paragon/renegade check that will be easier to pass when you're this early on in the game. The way this game handles paragon/renegade is weird and these checks are actually easier early in the game (especially if you're playing with a ME1 paragon save).

The system basically punishes you for not min/maxing either paragon or renegade throughout the course of the game (Vinny brought this up in the ME1 playthrough, but it's actually ME2 where it's an issue). I hate it especially because I think grey Shepard makes sense in the lawless Terminus setting of ME2. Not min/maxing can make it impossible to settle the arguments between certain crew members late in the game (which can have dire consequences in the final mission) along with passing certain checks like in Zaeed's mission to gain companion loyalty.

I WANT YOU TO NEED ME.

Personally, talking to Mordin in this game completely turned me around on the genophage and made me the enthusiastic genophage apologist I am today. Curious to see if Alex has a similar reaction, given his current feelings on it.

Every NORMANDY UPGRADES dialogue adds an option to the upgrade menu. Make sure Alex gets them all before the end game!

I put Udina on the council :( He's good at dealing with politics and Anderson is better getting stuff done on the outside, anyway.

Am I the only one that wants Alex to just look slightly more before launching a probe? I remember minmaxing my ass off when I resource-gathered.

ME2 is a monument to gut instinct emotionalism over expertise and strategical thinking in decision-making and this episode is the point on top.

Yep, that Normandy DLC mission is about as underwhelming as I remember it.

There was a cool bit in Stellaris about projectiles in space travelling forever. One of the random events has a ship under your control suddenly hit by a weapon, damaging shields and causing the alarm, but no ships around that could possibly have fired. Investigation reveals it was a mass driver bolt fired from the next galaxy over, and something like 10,000 years ago (can't recall the specifics). I thought that was a really neat random event.

I haven't even watched today's episode... I just like the way you use your words!

It's just occurred to me that with all the DLC this is going to make for an excellent watch. I only played the DLCs long after completing the main game but things like Overlord & Firewalker can be done whenever for this playthrough. I would like the two big story ones to be done after but that's just my preference. Onwards Commander Shep Shep!
