My biggest gripe with Pokemon Go was that they didn't have the turned based combat. Main reason why I never played it. Such wasted potential. My favorite thing to do back on GBC, GBA pokemon era was running around my neighborhood with a link-cable challenging other kids. Them taking that away from this game as well makes me so sad. The old games were great Jrpgs, and i get that battling is in the game, but I for one enjoyed having to fight the Pokemon I wanted to catch and grind a bit of exp on.

I have been enjoying this way more than I thought I would. It's been completely undersold. And in my opinion, not having to fight pokemon to capture them, but still getting xp is a pretty nice change.

I didn't even play much GO. But I imagine if you have, that adds a lot of extra value.

Even though I really hate some of the changes they made, I'll still play the shit out of this. It just looks so damn good and my nostalgia is way too big.

It's been years since I've played any kind of Pokemon, but oh my god, being able to bring out any Pokemon into the world is so cool. I used to wish for that in the older games.

So glad someone on staff is giving this some time. Ive been absolutely loving this game. The nostalgia is strong. But just so happy its an actual game and not some paper thin side project. There are a ton of qulaity of life changes theyve made that the series has been screaming out for for years. No HMs, Poke Box on your character etc. These things needs to stay in gen 8 next year.

I almost didn't get this game after people seemed really negative initially but I'm loving it so far. Would have liked to hear some discussion about the controller options. Can't believe there is no dual-joycon or pro controller support. I tried playing with the single joycon and my hand was cramping up shortly after.

I'm holding out for the Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee! Quick Look.

Here's the thing about Professor Oak's life choices: no teaching responsibility, presumably unlimited funding, no institutional power struggles to worry about. If he actually wants to go anywhere, I assume he has pokemons with flying/surfing/etc too.

After seeing this, I have a feeling Pokemon Go will be the thing that ruined Pokemon games (for me.) I did not touch Go, seemed super dumb, simplified, and just for people who like staring at their phones all day.

I was (kinda still am) very eagerly awaiting this new "full" Pokemon game they said is coming, but if Let's Go! is any sign of things to come, its that they are going to make the main games even more simple than they already were (not including all the crazy stuff if you want to get into the stats stuff.)

We'll see, but my money is on the next big Pokemon game having a bunch of lame ass stuff and Go tie-ins.

Hmm. I haven't played one since the GBA but Yellow as my first experience and this is scratching a serious nostalgia itch. Might push me over the edge and get a Switch.

I'm not going to lie, I'm actually surprised by how cool and fun this game looks.

The word of mouth around this game really makes me want to try it. I will probably succumb to that urge sooner rather than later.

I'm sorry, but I laughed out loud when you made a comment about how pokemon can now have two types. Pokemon have always been able to have two types. Charizard has always been Fire/Flying.

I'm loving these changes, huge nostalgia for the original 150, haven't played a Pokemon game since Yellow. I love not having to grind battle every single pokemon just to catch them. In fact, I think it makes actual battles much more special and more fun since they're less frequent.

My only wish would be for them to streamline the catching and make it quicker to get in and out of each pokemon encounter. For instance, I'd love the option to skip the pokedex after every encounter and speed up the leveling screen etc. Other than that I'm just having a freaking blast.

I had to stop this video before the gym because I'm excited to play it for myself for my upcoming birthday but I'm so glad Jan is enjoying it. Jan and Ben were super entertaining in this video too ?

As much as I don't like a lot of the changes in this the only real damning thing about this game for me is supposedly there won't be any PokeBank support? Otherwise I wouldn't mind playing this
