I agree. I think it would be better for Giantbomb to just do quicklooks on retail games, and skip formal reviews altogether. But I know people want numbers, so that isn't happening.

This is one of the best Quick Looks of 2010. Jeff doing Miles voice. Logic button. Steak N' Shake. Awesome.

I'm hoping that once you get past the tutorial they'll give you bigger spaces to run around in. Maybe even get an overworld to do you crime fighting business in.

@Sarumarine: Why would you need an entire overworld to investigate a single crime scene? <_<

But no, there's no real exploration. You're tasked with investigating a crime scene, you search out everything you can and put together whatever clues you can, and then finally you usually interrogate someone a la Ace Attorney court scenes. Rinse, repeat until you solve the case.

Jeff's right.  Best Buy didn't have it for me either.  I had to hold my breath and dash into a Gamestop to get my copy.

I'm almost done with the second case.  It's a fun game, but I do miss the tension of the courtroom.  All of the logic battles you get into with other characters seem to hold less weight and tension, knowing all that is on the line is Edgeworth's ego.

If we ever get a attorney/prosecuter game with voice acting, we know who to go for. XD

I think both forms of coverage have their place.  Quick Looks are a good way to get a better understanding of what a game is actually like without all of the editing of trailers, or even reviews, but with reviews the person gets to add up the experience as a whole--which could cause a completely different opinion of how good a game is.

A good example would be Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.  There are two quick looks of it, which show the actual gameplay, but the main reason that it got a high rating was because of what the bigger picture of that game ends up being rather than just the mechanics.

Testimonies and cross-examinations are replaced with arguments and rebuttals. It's the same practice of objecting and whatnot, just outside of the courtroom.

Great game, I'm on the last case. Not much else to add, though I do wish it were a bit more precise about what it wants in some part.
Also, obvious case outcomes are kinda obvious.

Sorry. I guess it's those sprites for the characters. It almost looks like you'd be walking through doors or going to places to investigate and talk to people.

Looooooooooooogic. I'm halfway into the second case, great game so far. I enjoy when you mess up something, Edgeworth comes up with some crazy way to make whoever he's talking not think he's stupid. Good stuff!

Oh gawd, jeff did crack me up,there! The bit about the photographs,...lol

Liked the Pheonix Wainwright more though..the honey with the metal bra, i fell in love! The back and forth in confidence interested me, also with P W. All you had here was Gumshoe doing his thing.

Hey! Jeff, Ryan! Stop insulting the Dick! I can't have you insulting Gumshoe, because that would make me feel awkward for... cosplaying... as him... a lot...
...
...
Perhaps that's just awkward on its own...

I still don't understand why they didn't call this "Perfect Prosecutor" instead of Ace Attorney.

Because "Ace Attorney" is the series name, like "Final Fantasy" or "Legend of Zelda". Besides, you don't really ever "prosecute" in this game. It's about Investigating, thus the title. (Not to mention one of the themes of this game is Edgeworth moving past the idea of "perfection" to  "the search for the truth".)

Its a shame Miles Edgeworth is such an easy game.
