Brad should just get a new TV. Constantly having to worry about burn in sounds like something I would not want to deal with.

I've been playing this on PS4, the loading time on some of them is terrible. I half expected to play a game of Ridge Racer while waiting for Galaga to load.

EDIT: Also, that's my gamertag in the friends list. I brought all of the games, the same as i brought the Arcade Archives games. I'm a sucker for retro games and nostalgia, and emulation doesn't unlock trophies.

Also: Wayne's World reference FTW!

Man I think that sideboard art is real great but the way it has those breaks in the outlines that look like someone messed up on their illustrator paths is driving me nuts.

EDIT: I only ever played DIG DUG 2, which I always thought of as the Dig Dug.

800 megs is INSANE. NewRetroArcade is just over 200 and it has multiple machines and A FRICKIN VIRTUAL REALITY ARCADE HALL YOU CAN WALK AROUND IN!

Sure the ROMs of the actual games are downloaded separately but they are measured in kilobytes to a few megs for something like Street Fighter 2.

Unless he wants to shell out for one of the crazy expensive OLEDs, it would come with a downgrade in image quality.

These aren't perfect, but they're not bad for the price (plus each has 1000G on XB1 which can be fun to aim for). 800MB/ea is a little crazy though - I wonder how long it'll be before we can completely fill a standard PS4 with nothing but arcade ports.

I do like that they include the self-test option though - completely useless, but fun nonetheless.

A 800mb for these is completely insane. Grow home for PS4 is 825 mb.

Xbone controller support on Steam is indeed borked. Works fine with an old D-input pad ... but it shouldn't need to.

Man, Tekken is taking forever to load! 35 minute Quick Look and they didn't even get to it!

Also, that menu jingle is incredibly close to the Wii Shop jingle

@internetdotcom: The steam releases are 2-300mb each. Awful ports though, although I should have realised that as I was one of the suckers who bought Pac-Man museum.

It's a bit of a shame that the UI for the PC versions of these are pretty bad. No key bindings, iffy deadzone settings on 360 pads, dodgy arcade/fightstick support, no exit program button.

The game emulation itself is fine but goddamn, they missed some real basic stuff! It'll probably never get fixed either.

I admit it, I yelled at the screen when Jeff missed the one during the 1st challenge stage.

Also, yes Bosconian is awesome. Nothing wrong with a little Xevious as well.

I had a chance once to buy a Galaga machine for about $300. Would have done it if a voice inside me hadn't said 'You don't need an arcade machine in your life.'

@brad, @jeff: You should check out the Ms. Pac Man post mortem from this year's GDC: http://www.gdcvault.com/play/1023366/Classic-Game-Postmortem-Ms-Pac. It's really good and will answer your questions about the differences between it and Pac-Man and its origin as a "speed-up kit" called Crazy Otto. Plus, in an earlier version, MISS Pac-Man had hair!

I'm guessing the reason Ms. Pac-Man is left out of the bundle is because of royalties. Namco has to pay the guys who made it royalties for any downloaded versions. They may have decided bundling it would cost them too much money or whatever.

$4 games with platinum trophies?! That's nuts. I'm not much of a trophy hunter anymore but this is kind of speaking to me. Especially since they are classics.

Are you listening Nintendo? Achievements in VC games would be a lot of fun.

It isn't just you Jeff, the input has some delay on it. I picked up Ms.Pac-man the day these appeared and found it maddening how many turns I was missing in later levels.

Also fun tip: getting Platinum is super easy cause the trophies to get up to round 17 work when you use round select.

Also supporting your theory: In the "Pac-Man Museum" package on PS3, "Ms. Pac-Man" is not included and has to be purchased/downloaded as its own separate thing.

All this arcade game releases remain a cool thing, but they are still too expensive for me to actually get any. Then again, Galaga really is great.
