Man, it may not be Rocksteady but this franchise is still pushing action game combat forward. That boss fight was awesome... I could even pick this one up?

if you enjoyed arkham asylum and would like to play it again then i guess this game is worth it. personally i enjoyed A.A not sure why i would need to pay for the same game again. i tried the second batman game and didn't like it that much at all.

Yeah, i would advise if anyone is about to tap out on this quick look to jump to the final 20 minutes, it's honestly all gold.

@sintesi: That sure isn't the case on the PC. The combat is smooth and very fast. Get into combat with a large group and it's kinda like Batman's a big black asskicking pinball. I think the combat moves faster than it did in City, but that may just be me.

I'm running a 650 with mostly all vid settings at their highest, only thing I don't have on is AO, and the game's smooth as hell, no choppyness at all.

Y'know, I freakin' loved Arkham City. Probably even more than I did Origins, much as the first title had a more perfectly atmospheric package. I think in part it was because I played through on hard, and after an initial struggle of learning the combat system properly, it was incredibly satisfying.

This might not be Rocksteady, but it's so cheap on GMG right now for a new release that I'm gonna get in on it, because honestly I'm quite content for "more of the same" when that same is so good.

EDIT: Looks and sounds like they've really put a lot of combat and related challenges stuffed into the main game, which is ideal for me because it's probably my favourite part of that game. I could fight dudes as Batman for hours.

I assume that's why his description reads that "he is likely the most powerful foe Batman has ever, or will ever, face."

Not sure the story meets the standard of the first two games, but the formula for this series is just so damn delicious.

The writing in this game is a whole lot better than in the previous games.

I totally get people feeling burnt out or that this game is too samey. I'm in for this though, the mp looks interesting, the crime scene stuff is cool and that whole fight scene was rad. I'm down for more Batman.

If they do this again though, I dunno, they need to do something different especially after the amount of people kinda shrugging about this game.

Got this on my steam wishlist primed for a sale. Too many other things coming out, but I love these games.

A Mortal Kombat version of that multiplayer mode would be AMAZING. Imagine it, the special forces vs Barakas.

Batman is pretty damn tall.

I'm fine with them putting him in the game - and they certainly do his skills justice with that cool looking fight. What I will say, is I think he should have been a later-game villain, instead of one of the first guys you fight. Especially when they put relative unknowns like Firefly so late in the game.

And if Bane or Deadshot aren't out of Batman's league, then Deathstroke definitely isn't. As is often the case in Batman stories, all of the medical enhancements and "powers" in the world aren't ultimately a match in a clean 1v1 for Batman's resolve, and intense training.

Fun Fact, when they were arguing about Deathstroke vs. Deadpool I totally remembered they are sort of the same person is alternate universes! Deadpools real name: Wade Wilson, Deathstroke: Slade Wilson. It was originally intended as a joke.

I love Brad...but wow...he's absolutely terrible at this game, lol. He missed so much stuff, especially tutorial related stuff.

I....I kind of want to get it for that multiplayer.

Even with BF4 hitting this week, that MP looks awesome.

It's not like a lot of the henchmen he's going up against are always the most in shape bunch either. I have to imagine over the years one or two of them have had a fatal heart when he was hanging them upside down above a skyscraper or something.

Man the Cockney dialogue is just down right bad. Single player looks more of the same, which is not to say bad, but i'm not ready for another of that game at the moment. Multi looked a ton of fun though. Reminded me of the mode in MGS online where one guy is Snake while two team fight it out. Will wait to see what Rocksteady can come up with for PS4.

you guys should be easier on brad; my roomie's been struggling with the deathstroke fight all night when it only took brad a couple tries. either that or my roomie really, really sucks at games. :\

"That's not where I wanted to grapple" summarizes my experience with this game so far.

I like the story missions but navigating the open world is just not as good as Arkham City, even when it's a lot of a similar looking locations.

Listening to Brad mash during this game especially during the boss fight, hurts me, had the two previous games with tens of hours of combat to learn what to push and when.

Did Brad seriously ask if there has ever been a Die Hard game?! Die Hard Trilogy is legendary!

So I've never played one of these batman games before, but I would love to try. Should I just pick it up here since it has improved over time (or maybe it hasn't I dont know) or just go pick up one of the old ones. Arkham City or Asylum?

He really sucks at games. All you need to do for the Deathstroke fight, is counter a bunch and get the odd hit in, until you get the three pummel sequences. And mash the counter button during the parts with the propane tanks.

Yep, definitely the best story of the three games. Their addressing of the Batman-Joker relationship. The Gordon-Batman story arc. Their big fake-out on what the story of this game was going to be. And I like how they demonstrate a shift in his relationship with the cops, closer to how it would be going forward.

Only thing I wasn't a massive fan of, was what they did with Bane - but hey, at least they accurately depicted how smart he is. And the teaser at the very end of the game, along with exactly the voice actor you would want for the character.

As a legit Batman fan - not just a Batman game fan - a good story was enough for me to enjoy this game. This game is essentially analogous to a Treyarch COD game, but with a superior story.
